A large ensuite bath w tub and a separate living room/dining room makes this the perfect spot to rest/recoup. Most all your homey needs can be met. No full kitchen but coffee making, filtered water and refrigeration are accessible 24/7. Like the cruise ships, for safety, I am open for verified vaccinated visitors ONLY.

Le logement
Camden Intown House is a quality built 1940 extended cape. The upstairs guest suite is newly rehabbed with many fine features. There is a lovely fenced-in back yard but your access is the private front door w the Maine state flag. I'll meet you with a mask and a key.
There is free parking in the driveway. You also have WiFi, air conditioning, TV, a private front door entrance and inside stairway.
The large charming bedroom has a new queen bed (down comforter on cold nights, light quilt on warm ones) with a TV sitting area and a desk over looking the bird feeders and gardens. You can watch the osprey nest on the river too! All the windows are new and you can just barely see Mount Battie from the bed. The bath has a new shower head and the room is thoroughly steam cleaned between guests.
You'll find a queen futon, large ottoman, dining table for 4-6 and more in the efficient living/dining room. It's inviting and includes every amenity I can think of (that is Covid-safe and allowed in a Camden Homestay.)
There are coin-laundromats, restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery close by. The yard is big and in the process of conversion from extra-blah to an organic food and flower paradise. Guests interested in permaculture are invited to ask questions and take a tour with me. There is a new fire pit and an old teak bench for s’mores and star gazing on clear nights.

Accès des voyageurs
Upstairs is your unique space. Considered a “homestay” in Camden. Not quite a legal apartment due to lower cape ceiling height and no full kitchen but as close as I could make it. Backyard lounging with permission (to not scare the dog). I’ll meet you upon arrival and help acquaint you w the upstairs suite. I hope to help make your Camden visit especially nice!

Autres points à prendre en note
I first vacationed in Camden, “The jewel of the Maine Coast”, in 1973 and fell in love. I finally retired here in the summer of 2020. As a nutritional sales rep for 16 years, I covered most of the state, driving and exploring many coves and hidden spots. I found many beautiful, interesting places to share. There is so much beauty and nature here in the heart of the Midcoast. I think you will love it too.

Emplacement

Camden, Maine, États-Unis

My corner of Camden is absolutely lovely. The Camden Intown House is located on a quiet short street that backs up to several Camden Schools and open play fields. The Megunitcook River's Knowlton Waterfalls, w a cozy reading bench, are 2 doors down. The neighborhood is walkable, the antique homes are beautiful, and sightseeing is just out the front door.
I’m so close to everything. An easy 2-3 block walk takes you to interesting restaurants, coffee shops, a little grocery, unique shopping, the gorgeous harbor, opera house, and the beautiful library amphitheater.
Five blocks to the north is Mount Battie Trail, Merryspring Nature Center is 1.2 miles, Camden Hills State Park 1.8 miles and Megunticook Lake 3.0 miles. Some local highlights include Thursday Art Walks, outdoor concerts, and a favorite, church bells on the hour when strolling through our quaint town.

For 3 years, I was an Airbnb Superhost in Southern Maine with w a 4.9 rating. I was especially noted for extreme cleanliness, comfort and helpfulness. I love having guests and I interact w guests only as they wish. I am a retired registered dietitian and health columnist for the Portland Press Herald. I’m interesting and friendly. I'm also very serious about your comfort, happiness, health and safety while here.
I retired to Camden as “the way life should be”. That definition for me specifically means my mini-orchard/permaculture gardens/bird and bee sanctuary and a warm home filled with arts, fire pit meals and mostly, friendship. I started the gardens from scratch and they will only improve with time. Many garden projects are in process and I'm happy to hand you a shovel! (Joking). I am COVID-19 vaccinated and open for verified vaccinated visitors ONLY.
Please note: More interior pictures to come. Holiday rates may vary.
