A charming Cape-Cod style cottage, known as "The Little Red House" - is listed as the oldest house in Dobbs Ferry, being built around 1828. The guest bedroom is on the second floor along with two other family bedrooms. The bathroom is shared. The guest bedroom is small but cozy with a single bed, small desk, chest of drawers and a partial closet. There is no A/C in the summer but we have fans.
Another slightly smaller bedroom just recently renovated and restored with a slightly narrower bed complete with chest of drawers, small gentleman's desk and bookshelf is also available on the same floor for a slightly discounted rate. There is no closet in this room. Perfect for parent with child, or two friends each wanting their own room.
** At the moment this 2nd smaller room has a full length curtain across the doorway, not a door as I am still looking for a resalvaged vintage door to go here. Guest needs to be aware of this.

The guest is welcome to use the whole house which is shared between me and my grown up twin sons.
The house has a small galley kitchen, a dining room and a living room. Kitchen privileges are use of fridge to store items, microwave, tea and coffee making and light use of the stove.
There is a lovely back patio along with a grill and a picnic table under a green canopy that looks across a small back garden.
The house has a small front porch for sitting, and boasts an English garden bursting with flowers in the spring and early summer.

We are a friendly family and interested in getting to know our guests to the extent with which they would like to interact. We also respect the need for "down time" and quietitude.
We are a family of 3, adult twin sons and myself that live in close proximity. We have 2 cats and a ferret. The ferret runs around, sleeps most of the time and is very sweet and friendly.
Absolutely no smoking inside the house only outside, and cigarette butts must be disposed of properly.
Describing oneself always has me completely flummoxed but here goes.
I am an easy outgoing individual. I enjoy the city but I also love the countryside and nature. I love animals, friendly people and exploring places that are off the beaten path. I share my house with my grownup twin sons, two cats and a ferret but I have always enjoyed putting up friends who are visiting from out of town or the country.
I am a dental hygienist by trade but I also own my own small cottage industry printing wallpaper in a small studio set up in my basement.
I was born in England but spent my early years growing up in Ghana until age 14. I moved to the USA in 1981. I bought the oldest house in Dobbs Ferry in 2005 and have been slowly renovating it ever since.
