Le logement
About the house

This is our vacation home, so we set it up with our friends, family, and guests in mind. The first floor has two bedrooms each with queen-sized beds. Both bedrooms on the main floor have dark-out curtains for privacy. The two bedrooms on the main floor include ceiling fans and portable fans are also available in each of the bedrooms. There are closets with hangars available in each of the bedrooms. The first bedroom includes a night stand and dresser.

Upstairs there is a bedroom that is great for kids, with a pyramid bunk bed with a full-sized bed on the bottom, and then an additional twin bed. The room easily sleeps 3-4 people. The door from the main floor upstairs can be closed to reduce the possibility of disturbing guests on the first floor. In the summer, windows can be opened on both ends of room for cross-ventilation. A portable fan is also included to increase air circulation. There is a closet with hangars.

There is one bathroom which is on the main floor. A hair dryer is available in the linen closet across from the bathroom. There is an iron and ironing board provided.

The kitchen has all the necessities for your dining and cooking needs. We have provided a crock pot so your meals can be prepped in the morning and upon returning in the evening, your meals are ready to eat. There is a small table able to seat 4 in the kitchen. There is a large refrigerator able to store food during your stay. There is a stand-alone electric stove and oven as well. Dish soap and cleaning supplies are available under the sink. Garbage service is provided by the City of Ironwood with a trash bin and recycle container as well.

The living room has a television with cable access and board games. There is plenty of seating available for entertaining or watching television. The room has blinds on the window providing privacy and dark-out curtains. The heating thermostat can be adjusted for your comfort.

The basement is finished and has a large television, a dry bar and a mini fridge. The door can be closed reducing noise to guests upstairs. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the tree-lined backyard that provides privacy when relaxing on the patio after a long, adventurous day.

There is a small single-car garage should you decide to stow your vehicle or equipment. If you are using your own snow machines or ATVs, they can be stored in the small garage and ready for you in the morning.

The home is equipped with a smart front door lock. A unique, temporary pass code is provided to each guest for safety. As time permits, we will be adding motion-detector lights in both the front and back yard. The porch light will be on a smart-switch with scheduled programming to come on at sunset and off by 10:00 pm. The lights in the front room will also be on a smart switch programmed for when guests arrive. This fall, the intent is to add a smart thermostat so that the house is comfortable when guests arrive.

For photographers, capture the majestic beauty of Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains. October and November are great months to see the Northern Lights on Lake Superior away from light pollution of the city.
