We are so sorry that your booking turned out this way, we welcome thousands of guests each year and we never had a similar experience. Although it was a last-minute booking, with less than a 24hours notice, we still accepted your booking and we were looking forward to having you at our place, generally for last minute bookings we give our host the phone number of the guest, so the host can communicate directly viva voce with the guest, unfortunately the calls our host was making to your phone were always unresponsive. To make the situation worst was the fact that the phone you brought with you to Malta was not the same you listed on your Airbnb contact form, so the efforts of our host to reach you were futile.
Unlike a hotel, our apartments do not have a lobby so there must be communication between the host and the guest for the door key exchange. It was not possible to access the property without the provided key or code, in this case you have had none which means that you were literally waiting in the wrong place as the host met no one at the apartment and there was no one at the apartment at the mentioned time – hours. We listed 2 numbers on the Airbnb, the office number and the host number, we are not sure at this point if Airbnb ever gave you the two numbers as they never confirmed back to us.
Our intention was to host you like we do with ALL of our guests over here, something unknown to us has happened here. All we know was that the booking was cancelled on your behalf as it seems it was you specific request. We refrained to contact you since Airbnb asked us not to. We apologize for the mishap even though this situation remains a mystery, we hope to be able to make it up to you in the near future, so should you decide to come back to Malta please get in touch and we will be more than happy to offer you our best in properties and service to make up for your experience of our Company.
