We welcome you to our simple, eco-minded home surrounded by lush rainforest, where families of monkeys are frequent visitors, fruit bats make their home in nearby trees and where the forest creatures combine to perform their nightly symphony. Please keep in mind that this is not a luxury resort or a hotel. It is just our humble home.

Le logement
This former US Military house has been retrofitted with the environment in mind – solar power, natural lighting, passive cooling and green living roof are gradually being added with the aim of minimising our carbon footprint. Three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms provide comfortable accommodation for up to 7 guests. Additional beds are available for a minimal extra fee but it can get quite full over 7 people. We also have an optional 4th small adjoining bedroom with a bathroom which can be booked for an additional P1500 per night (to be paid on arrival) which sleeps 3 people.

Accès des voyageurs
A well-equipped kitchen, dining area and private terrace overlooking the rainforest make for great entertainment. Although after 10pm we ask that you respect our neighbours and reduce your noise.
We invite you to help yourself to the herbs in our organic garden for your meals although are fields are currently resting from several seasons of growing.

Autres points à prendre en note
Please keep in mind that we are not a HOTEL or RESORT. It is our family home. So there is no room service or attendant on call to serve you or wash your dishes.

The beds are all low to the floor futon type which are suitable to the tropical climate. The queen size mattresses are Uratex foam and are firm to sleep on.

As with any home light bulbs go out, plumbing issues happen, things wear out. Please be patient and just let us know and we will do our best to get somebody in the fix the problem. Unfortunately service people are not always available to attend to our needs at short notice as we are away from the busy city center of Olongapo.

We ask that our guests respect our property and leave the place as you found it. We have a house manager who works for us part-time cleaning and preparing the rooms before and after guest stays. You may ask her if she can help with extra duties but we suggest you agree on a small fee beforehand or a tip afterwards as this would require her to extend her working hours at the house.

As for now we have chosen not to install air-conditioning, in keeping with our wish to reduce our carbon emissions as much as possible and move towards being completely reliant on solar power. Each room has a ceiling fan and mosquito screens on all windows and doors.

Please do not buy plastic water bottles. Reduce plastic waste by bringing your own refillable bottles and use our water dispenser. Subic water is treated and drinkable.

During the holiday season and public holidays it can get quite busy in our area with tour buses and vacationers trying to get pics of the neighborhood monkeys, so keep this in mind when planning your trip and organising excursions.

Private yoga sessions, stand-up paddle board rental and surfing lessons are also available and can be arranged after confirming your bookings.
During the busy season and public holidays it can get quite busy in our area as it is a popular place to see the local wildlife and go to the beach so keep that in mind when planning to get here and organizing daily excursions.

Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Central Luzon, Philippines

While we are situated in the midst of the rainforest, it is only a short walk to the sea. Another short walk up the hill is the Cubi Point village with the best Korean restaurant in Subic, a great little massage spa, a mini-mart and a quaint Filipino/Italian cafe overlooking a pretty church. It is mainly a village for international students who come to learn English at the several language schools or student pilots at the nearby Subic Airport. It is extremely safe in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone which is protected by its own private police force, and there is a small police station in the Cubi Point village.

There is also fire station a 5 min walk away with a basketball court.

ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS
If you are looking for eco-friendly activities you can hike to our local waterfalls or visit the nearby Jungle Environment Survival Training (JEST) camp where can learn all about indigenous skills in an active, hand-on environment. Treetop adventure is also very close where you can safely experience gliding from tree to tree up in the forest canopy. Subic has become a mecca for cycling and each weekend hundreds of cyclists take to the picturesque and well-maintained roads which offer the full range of terrain from flat and easy to the more challenging. Subic also is well-renowned location for triathletes in training and their competitions. There is a diving center in town and a number of popular wreck dive sites close by. There are some excellent surfing beaches up and down the coast, but also a very safe All Hands family beach with a kiosk and range of hire equipment.

Other popular activities and attractions include horse riding at El Kabalo, Ocean Adventure and the Camayan Beach Resort which has a good beach front restaurant and safe swimming beach.

Just 12 to 15 minutes by car, Subic Bay township offers a vast number and variety of restaurants, gourmet deli’s, coffee shops, 4 large supermarkets, 2 malls (Ayala’s Harbor Point and SM Mall just over the bridge in neighbouring Olongapo), numerous specialty shops and several excellent massage centers.

I am an Australian Yoga Teacher based in the Philippines currently running Subic Rainforest Retreat. We are active environmentalists and love the sea and our over supply of rescued pets! We are pretty quiet people and enjoy our natural surroundings in our peaceful neighborhood and growing fruits and veggies. We are doing our best to reduce our carbon footprint with the design, function and choice of materials to build our accommodations. We discourage the use of plastic bags and bottles on the premises and encourage our guests to use the trash segregation system to help us with our garden composting and hopefully take the system back into your homes. We welcome like minded folks to come stay with us and reconnect with the incredible Subic rainforest and its wildlife. Let us know if you would like to do a private yoga retreat. Peace

Durant votre séjour
When I am not teaching yoga or out surfing, you will usually find me working around the house or in the garden. The same goes for my partner, while at home she enjoys the quiet time to paint in her studio. We have a wonderful housekeeper who comes in during the day to prepare or clean the rooms. We both love open-minded people who appreciate nature as much as us.

We offer private yoga sessions for your group for an additional fee.

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE INQUIRING;
We do prefer to know a little information about our guests (where you are from, your mission in life;) etc) as we are not a private hotel and we are sharing our home with you. Please do not inquire unless you have a proper photo of yourself (not a idol or cartoon) and filled out your profile information completely. Alternatively you can tell us about yourself, the number and ages of your companions and your reasons for wanting to stay at our place in your inquiry message. This information would be greatly appreciated for everyones peace of mind and to ensure a fast approval.
