David and his family welcomed me to the guesthouse like family. They made sure I had something to eat my first day and showed me around the facility so I was able to feel at home. My room was a good size with lots of storage and elbow room. The nice warm blankets were welcome for the cold nights. The shared kitchen was a great size with a harvest table and lots of space for food to be stored separately from the other guests. The shared washroom and laundry was nice too. The gardens were lovely with an outdoor table to eat at too. The location in town was good too, with many small food shops close by but also an easy walk or ride to the markets and larger shops in the town centre. And the views of the mountains surrounding the town were lovely. A very nice rural community that is far from the crazy busy larger towns and cities.

David's place is a real oasis with a great view. Great place. I was happy to stay there. David and his family are very nice friendly and hospitable people ready to help in any way they can do it . Highly recommend their home

Perfect! Staying in the Sacred Valley in Calca was a wonderful way to start our time in Peru. We were warmly welcomed by David and Mabi and shared time with their family. They would often share a taste of their food, invite us for talk and coffee, and welcomed us with a salad and tuna. We actually stayed in Casita #1 and I highly recommend - very spacious, fire place and own bathroom, fresh flowers in the room, share kitchen well equipped. Casita has a lot of charm with a beautiful garden and personal touch of David's design everywhere. David was wonderful host giving great suggestions for our stay which I highly recommend following. Calca is still untouched by tourism so we felt like we were the only ones in town. The people are very friendly and their are lots of restaurants, food markets and taxi/motos to get around. It was easy to get to other parts of Sacred Valley once we learnt how to catch the local buses (modern buses near the Cevichi restaurant leave for Cusco direction often and were very comfortable. The hike to Huchuy Qosqo was very hard but worth it - we were the only ones there and we passed locals going about there everyday activities. The Museo Inkariy was new and amazing, because we went at 9am when it opened we were the only ones there for 2 hours (it looked like they were getting ready for tour buses for lunch and the afternoon). Using driver organised by David was very helpful for our longer journeys and took away the stress when we had all our luggage. I hope you to enjoy your stay at Casita!

Hi Barb & Tony... Not sure why they were on strike, but it probably would be over money, more regulations or additional paperwork requirements. Perhaps all three. Happy trails!

David and his wife Mabi are wonderful hosts. Upon arrival we were greeted like family. All the glowing reviews of this place are true. This is the best airbnb experience we have had. Calca is a traditional town, unspoilt by tourism. Surrounded by majestic mountains and well situated for exploring the wider Sacred Valley region. This casa is a little peace of paradise. We recommend you go ahead and book it!
