Weavers Cottage is a 17 century old weavers cottage from the days when Painswick was a centre for wool and spinning and weaving - as many of the properties in the Stroud area were. It has an old ingle nook fireplace and large beamed bedroom and pretty garden terrace and roof terrace to eat on.
It is ideal for two but there is an extra small room with adult sized beds which could accommodate children but the roof terrace would be unsuitable for very young children.

This is a lovely cottage - well maintained with a lot of charm. The location in Painswick is great - everything very walkable. This is a very beautiful part of the country. Ellen was very responsive. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Weaver's cottage. It was perfect for us 2 and could easily have fit 4 people. It is a lovely home with everything you could need, quiet, warm and cosy, and in a very beautiful village. Highly recommend and will look to return here again in the future. Hopefully for longer next time as there are so many places close by to explore.

Ellen made us feel very welcome and had the place very clean and tidy. She also provided breakfast things which was kind. But we did not find the furniture in the living room terry comfortable after a day of sightseeing. And we were disappointed that the town had so little to offer in the way of pubs or restaurants and no shops.

The space was very clean and tidy and was pretty well equipped for some meals at home. Ellen was very kind to help accommodate our toddler with a travel cot and highchair. We weren't able to take advantage of the roof top patio due to weather, but we enjoyed Painswick!

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you liked the cottage - although I would not say it is the most suitable place for toddlers due to bits and pieces of china and antiques!! Car parking is always difficult in Painswick which is why we are so lucky to be next to a free car park. I am glad you found the childrens' playground on the recreation ground but I did not realise there was a car park there as well!

A quaint period cottage with great outdoor space. It’s furnished in a very charming traditional style, although the sofas are not quite as comfortable to sit on as modern ones, they are great to look at. It has a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. There is no mobile signal indoors due to the thick cottage walls, which could be an issue for some people, and a great place to escape for others. There is a signal on the roof terrace. We had slight issues with the shower temperature which we assumed was caused by low water pressure. Overall a lovely place to stay and highly recommend

Thank you Tracy for your lovely review. The bathroom is the next room on the list for updating so we hope to install a better shower then. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

We had a wonderful time in Ellen's lovely, cosy cottage. It's in a fantastic location for some great walks, and was easy to get to by public transport from Stroud, with a buggy. The Painswick general village shop isn't up to much though, so we would've brought food with us in hindsight.

Réponse de Ellen :
I'm sorry that the village shop did not provide gourmet items. It is a very basic general village shop supplying everything from washing powder to milk , newspapers, frozen basics etc and has no foodie pretentions. If you had had a car I would have suggested that you bring food but since you were travelling by public transport I did not feel that this would be an option. The shop tries hard and bakes fresh bread and croissants every morning which a lot is Spar type shops don't . I'm sorry you did not receive directions. According to my outbox you did receive them so that must have been an Internet glitch and nobody else has found a problem finding the cottage.
