If you're looking for a HOME with wonderful hosts(my parents and our pets), in the lap of mother nature and if you're in for some lip smacking Coorg cuisine We welcome you to come stay with us and enjoy these simple pleasures we can offer. Disclaimer: If you are looking for a luxury, touristy, more value than what we offer, then this is not the place for you. There are ample, exorbitantly priced homestays, resorts and hotels which I will be more than happy to suggest.

The location is very good - secluded but in the midst of greenery and far from towns. You can hear the sound of the occasional jeep or car if you are standing outside the home but otherwise it's very quiet and peaceful. The host Lakshman is a very nice and a polite person. Thoroughly enjoyed the company of their dog - Tiger. A well trained dog which loves to play with us and likes to accompany us on our walks within the property. The house and the bathrooms were simple but clean. Don't expect any luxuries but you have the basic amenities. They had shampoo, liquid soap, etc which was helpful. They had inverter and generator to handle power shortages. Also gas based water heaters so you get warm water regardless of electricity. The food was below our expectations. Some of the dishes were salty and the portions were inadequate. Since you don't have much choice given the location, we had to manage. I think the hosts got slightly offended by our candid feedback on the food but we thought it is important that we let them know for future improvement. It could also be because we were eating their local Coorg cuisine which we are not used to eating. On the whole, it is a nice place and quite good for and family of 8 people. There were spiders in the bathroom but given the location, these are not unexpected. The value rating can be improved since on the whole we felt that we did not get what we paid for- either the rates have to be adjusted downwards or services (food quality, infrastructure) has to be has to be improved to justify the rates.

As stated clearly in their listing, this is a place where the family lives and they are sharing their home with guests. And what you get is warm homely hospitality with love and care! We were 12 of us and the facilities were good enough. Enough towels and toiletries were provided for. Beds are comfortable and spread out over 4 rooms, some of which are private and some are semi private. The family discussed the meal plan and treated us with sumptous local food. But be mindful that there are no support staff except during meal times and it is not practical to expect a hotel kind of hospitality. Though the place is right on the main road, there is hardly any noise and once you enter the premises, it is a world on its own. There are many pets and plants to give company if you are inclined. There are also lot of sight seeing places close by if you care to step out. Our fond memories included a walk on the deserted stretch of road outside, bathing in Iruppu falls, swimming in a river near their home. Drive to their place (from Bangalore) is through Nagarhole forest which is breath taking. There were frequent power cuts when we visited as the monsoon is just starting. The family is planning to go for solar lighting and water heating shortly; at the moment, some of these facilities are cut off when there is no power for a long time. Catching up with the family on their life out there was very interesting. It is not easy life maintaining the estate (and the numerous pets) and one gets to see the other side of the grass. But the hosts ensure that we get the best out of our stay there!

Excellent hosts and beautiful surroundings. They ensured that we reach the place comfortably (we got quite late) and made sure we have a great time. Lakshman's guidance on places to visit and the route to take was spot-on. They have a lovely coffee farm and cute pets - Dunga, Maggie and Coffee (the cats), Tiger (German Shepherd) and a Daschund too. The place gets lively with birds chirruping early in the morning and then you are served with coffee right from their plantation. Lakshman even arranged a nice bonfire for us on the 2nd Eve. My Wife, Mom and Dad loved the stay and the surroundings. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience the closeness to nature, is traveling with bunch of friends or family. Just one thing, do not expect the luxury of a five star, it is comfortable in all other ways. Cheers!

A beautiful place close to the main road. Lovely couple Lakshman uncle and Jothi aunty who run the place. Very pleasing nature and they take care of the guests very well. We were 7 adults and 2 children who travelled and the home was more than spacious for us. It can easily accommodate a couple more if you are travelling as a family. The amenities are basic and comfortable given that it is in the village and an estate home. However there is a lot of space to rest and chill out. If you love animals, this is the place to be. We just loved the time with Tiger, a German shepherd, the most playful and intelligent dog I have seen, Tessy, a dachshund who is shy, Donga a Persian cat, Maggie, the pampered house cat and Coffee the most loyal cat. We had a chance to taste authentic corgie food prepared by aunty and it was really good. The couple were really helpful when it came to information on what places to visit around. If you love gardening then you will have a great time here seeing the beautiful garden setup. Overall a pleasurable and enjoyable experience for everyone in the family.
