Cozy, rustic lakehouse located right on the shoreline of Lake Wateree, Camden, SC. LR, kitchen/dining area, 2 bedrooms (queen beds), studio with 2 single beds, and fabulous screened porch. Party shed right on the water's edge and great dock.
Lake Wateree is located in a lovely and serene area. Away from the hustle and bustle of Charlotte/Columbia, most people have never heard of it! Nestled right between Columbia, SC, and Charlotte, NC, Lake Wateree is only ten minutes from Camden, a beautiful small town with all the stores and businesses you might need for shopping while on vacation.
The lakehouse is comfortable, charming, and full of artwork. This was the studio of South Carolina's noted cartoonist, Jak Smyrl. Furnished with antiques and unique contemporary pieces, the house is homey, comfortable, and private. The yard is spacious with a blue granite seawall. You will enjoy lots of birdcalls! If you like fishing, the spacious dock with built-in seating is the perfect place to throw a line. The screened in porch is a wonderful place to relax. The view of the water through cypress and pine trees is lovely. The area is very quiet and peaceful. This is a very unique and comfortable house.

Guests have access to the house, party shed, and dock. Enjoy the great outdoors! The yard is large with many feet of shoreline. Swimming is wonderful; fishing is wonderful. If you bring a boat, you may launch it at the lake access at Shaw AFB Rec Center (very close to the house) and secure it to our dock. The front porch is a fabulous place to enjoy the view, listen to the birds, and at night, watch the reflections of boats on the water. This is a very beautiful area. The lake is clean; the water is magnificent.

My ultimate driving force is the pursuit of beauty. I have enjoyed drawing since I was a small child and that love has continued throughout my life. I taught art in the public school system and was able to experiment with many techniques and mediums with the students. Drawing is my number one passion in life. As of late, I've been consumed with drawing botanical specimens, especially those of Eleuthera (in the Bahamas). I love the outdoors; I love to work; anything pretty or unusual catches my eye. My husband is also an artist (and musician) whose hobby is creating very unique and unusual tables from river-etched wood. We are both interested in upcycling, and use driftwood, river wood, plastic, and beach 'junk' to create works of art when we're in the Bahamas. We enjoy sharing our houses with other people. It makes us happy knowing other people are having enjoyable vacations in unique accommodations. All of our places have one common theme: relax! We do not believe in 'fancy' and want our guests to feel comfortable and 'at home' when they rent from us. We greatly appreciate our guests and try to make their comfort and happiness our #1 priority. Everyone needs a great vacation!!!
My son-in-law, Scott, answers the emails for me and takes reservations. He will be happy to assist you.
