Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! Lovely and very charming house with all the amenities, great lake view, privacy (private road) and yet only a few minutes drive from the city. We and our 3 kids had a great (but too short...) winter holiday! Easy check-in and excellent orientation …

The place is great, the cottage is cute, the place peaceful. We loved staying there with children too. The host is very friendly and gives good information about all you need to know. Some details (cleanliness in the kitchen eg) could be better but altogether we were very very ha…

The cabin was just as described. Wonderful place and great location. Everything was clean when we arrived. Asta was wonderful too. She responded immediately to any questions I had. And sent emails with details about the cabin, places to eat and sites to see. When we come ba…

Trausti's place was perfect for our trip to Iceland, location wise was perfect and the surrounding was stunning, we was lucky enough to have snow while we was there, and I think that made our trip even more enjoyable. The cabin was comfy and warm and we loved how different it was…

The location is fantastic. Adorable little cabin on a secluded lake, but only a 10 min. drive into Reykjavik. Very close to a gas station and little restaurant. Glad we had GPS coordinates because it would have been very difficult to find otherwise. No one contacted us during our…

Hi Grace! Thank you for your review, we always appreciate the feedback. The note with the incorrect information regarding the check out was an outdated one and should have been removed and the updated one, which was amongst the brochures, is at the cabin. Thank you for pointing this out, so that we were able to correct the situation. I understand that it must have confused you. Prior to your arrival, we actually discussed check-in and check-out time and I'm very glad that I was able to give you both a very early check in as well as a very late check out so that you didn't have to leave VERY early. We do meet our guests but when we allow them to check in early in the morning, like in your case, we do make an exception because that would mean for us to wake up in the middle of the night. I'm also very glad that the internet in the cabin is the only one you are able to connect to, making it less confusing to figure out how to connect to it. We do not use fabric softener when we wash the towels, a bit of a quirky Icelandic custom, I guess. The water is pretty soft here in Reykjavík. I'm so happy you managed to use your own towels. Also, we do provide both shampoo, soap and conditioner, it's in the bathroom cabinet, maybe you just didn't see it? I do have to correct you on one thing - we do provide sheets and linen. In your case for two persons, as indicated in the reservation. We do not provide extra linen for guest without charge. There were only two of you, right? We do have blankets around the cabin, as well as lots of pillows. The cabin is a nature paradise... and being in that nature actually means that you are probably going to see flies and spiders. It's important for us to keep the cabin clean but that does not include keeping the flies away. A spider/fly proof cabins in the nature is a myth.. you know. I do appreciate the positive feedback, it's a cosy and cute cabin, great location. I also would like to thank you for treating Hólakot respectfully, leaving it in a tidy condition. Wishing you all the best, Ásta

Perfect little quaint and homey Icelandic house. Secluded but a short drive to the city 10mins. The views are amazing. And being able to see the northern lights from the warmth of the house is an experience that can’t be accurately described. Ásta is amazing. Always available and…
