Stephanie, I'm sorry that your stay was not 100% ideal. Our house is surrounded by forest and trees and the house is a partial basement, which means there just are a lot of tiny non-biting spiders. There are also a lot of windows in the front (non-basement part) of the apartment which create the ideal setting for both dust and for spiders to enter. The entire place gets vacuumed the morning before guests arrive, and the sheets, including pillowcases, get changed that day, and I do my best to make sure to clean every cobweb I see. The entire bathroom is also cleaned, to include the toilet, bathtub, shower, sink and floor. The cleaning supplies are in the main part of the house, although there is a vacuum cleaner in the in-law suite. Hotels don't leave out cleaning supplies for guests and neither do we, although you saw we have dish soap available for cleaning the dishes, which you did not do, incidentally. It's fine you didn't do them, but having cleaning supplies for the dishes didn't seem to make a difference in your desire to clean those, so I'm not sure what difference having cleaning supplies in the apartment would have made.
I would also like to add that in terms of accuracy, if you tell me that three people are going to be staying (which you did), please don't bring a fourth guest. We only open up our house to three guests at a time, so your booking of three guests was inaccurate.
I hope you enjoyed your time in DC. Thank you for your feedback.
