Our warm, light-filled, eco-friendly house, surrounded by beautiful gardens, grounds, woods and lakes is adjacent to Jampa Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre, a secluded retreat in a stunning natural environment. One of the most peaceful places in Ireland.
Woodland paths, lakes, the sound of birds, prayer flags flapping in the breeze; this is a spacious, tranquil house in a unique spiritual environment in the magnificent West Cavan countryside.
Two miles from the village of Bawnboy and close to Marble Arch Caves Geopark and the Cuilcagh Mountains, Rathduff House is ideal for escaping the stresses and strains of daily living. We offer a warm, relaxing space with oak floors, large sash windows and French windows opening to the patio and gardens.
Accès des voyageurs
Except for a small, independently accessed private apartment at one end of the house that is sometimes occupied by us or members of our family, guests have complete access to the house and grounds. (This apartment is listed separately on Airbnb, and is available to rent in combination with the house at a discount if requested)
A comfortable sitting room is available off the living/dining room. There is a fully equipped kitchen and utility room, with gas hob, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, blender, and microwave. All our water is filtered.
There are two bedrooms, one good-sized double room and one large room with two single beds and optional sofa-bed, accommodating up to five people comfortably. A small (low ceilinged!) single room can be made available if requested. There is single and a double sofa-bed for extra guests. Our towels and bed-linen are 100% cotton.
An internal balcony with a view of the rural landscape offers a place to relax or work in, and there is a spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower.
The house is well insulated and easy to heat. The central heating system boasts Victorian cast iron radiators, there is a solid fuel Stanley stove in the living room, and an open fire in the sitting room.
Jampa Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre is adjacent to the house and is open all year round to people of all faiths and none, offering spiritual practices, and beautiful grounds to interested visitors. Many people come to this unique area for peace and quiet, to get away from it all. Vegetarian meals (booked in advance) are available in the Centre and there is a small shop with interesting items from Mongolia and India for sale.
There are programmed events scheduled for most weekends in the summer (visit the Jampa Ling website for more information). Occasionally there are silent meditation weekends, when the walled garden may not be accessible.
