We were looking forward to staying at this house, doing house hunting in Tucson, and ending each day by relaxing in the pool and discussing the properties we had viewed. We were hugely disappointed in our expectations.
The swimming pool was filled with bacteria and scum, and was not usable during the entire time of our stay. When we arrived, the host promised that his pool person would have the pool ready to use in a couple of days, but this did not happen.
The first night of our stay, we were not able to use the TV. Apparently it had been disconnected by a carpet cleaner, and reconnected incorrectly. The host could not help with figuring out the problem, but the next day, we checked each connection and were able to fix it (connection cable was plugged into the DVD rather than into the TV).
Kitchen cooking items were sparse; for example, no skillet bigger than 9" and all skillets had the nonstick finish damaged. Some spatulas and spoons inside the drawers were greasy.
The refrigerator and freezer were packed with items left by past guests, mostly open and partially used. When asked, the host removed the refrigerator items from the main shelves, but the door space remained filled with old (many expired) condiments. Some of the cabinets also contained partially used food items.
Master bathroom shower floor was unclean, shower walls had a few bits of hair on them, and there was pink mold around the edges. Lights were burned out over the tub, and some over the vanities.
The house was in a great area, and in general, might have been an acceptable place to stay if not for the lack of the promised private pool, and the cleanliness issues.
We were promised a partial refund from the host, to compensate for not having a pool, but it has been two weeks and no refund check has been received.
