Overall our stay was fantastic - we had a great time. The property was absolutely gorgeous, and the staff were all incredibly nice and accommodating. The cabin was as advertised, - albeit small but had what we needed. Bugs were however a constant issue for us while we were there. I Understand it's not really within the hosts control but the amount of mosquitoes was excessive. Our hosts were great communicators and we really appreciated that, and did what they could while we were there. Would definitely try out/recommend farm to fork again, but come prepared next time with more bug gear, and an understanding that cell service will be sparce to non-existant.

Dennis and Melanie were very kind and easy to communicate with. The location was a little smaller than expected, however the land and area was very pleasant. For a retreat, definitely reccomended.

The cabin was great! The restaurant and bar were great! The pizza is about the best pizza I have had! The hosts were very friendly and offered to help with anything we may have needed. Some previous reviews stated that there was breakfast served. We were not offered breakfast, only coffee. It was not as serene as I expected. There was a large group in the lodge very nearby that partied into the wee hours of the morning both Friday and Saturday. This didn't bother my partner. I only mention it because one would get the impression by reading the description that this would be more of a peaceful retreat. The restaurant is quite busy and should be! It's wonderful. However, it added to the party atmosphere as there were many people around. Also, we arrived at about 5 pm on a Friday and it took awhile to get anyone freed up to show us to our cabin. All in all, wonderful! We plan to go again to take friends to experience the restaurant.

I do not even no where to start. We are a well traveled couple that were just trying to leave the twin cities and get away with our dogs and swim. Cities had a heat index of 105 and we had no air and dogs. Say no more we are out of here, it was a weekday so we thought we had many (URL HIDDEN) finding a place that takes 2 dogs is harder than we thought. We found Farm to Fork retreat an hour more than we wanted to travel, but took the risk. We pulled into a literal farm, no air and docks were washed out. we were going to stay one night and leave, but hence we met Dennis and Melanie and right off the bat and were having so much fun and have never felt more naturally welcome anywhere we have ever been. So Dennis and Melanie... they ROCK!! A hard working couple they are up at the crack of dawn to entertain their guests from the abundance of the land. They have passion and are so true to themselves on the holistic way of life. I am an organic restaurant owner and am saddened by loosely organic words restaurants use these days. They are the real deal!! They open the barn and make homemade wood fired pizza oven on Thursday's..first come first serve sells out of 100 pizzas in 4 hours. We were checking out wednesday so Dennis and Melanie opened the Bar and Pizzas for us and some of their friends.. one of our most fun memories. I am running out of space, I could write two more pages, the energy there is amazing!!! Peace and Love, Roy and Tracy

Melanie & Dennis were very welcoming hosts. When I arrived, they greeted me in their new restaurant/bar, and Melanie gave me a tour of the grounds and showed me to my cabin. The retreat grounds have a rustic beauty, and I wish the weather would have been more cooperative during my stay so I could have enjoyed the hiking trails, lawn games, and river kayaking more. The purpose of my stay was a solitary retreat, and Melanie and the staff were especially cooperative in giving me the space I needed during my stay. The rustic cabin was simple, yet provided me with everything I needed while there. The solar-power only provides power to two 12-volt ceiling lights in the cabin. If you require more electricity for laptop use, better lighting, or the oil heater, you need to request an extension cord be supplied from the main retreat center. The cook surface that comes with the cabin is an outdoor propane gas grill with burner. I had issues with both the tethered electricity and the grill on the first day, but Dennis addressed both issues promptly the next morning. Unfortunately because of the wet weather we were having, the grill only worked one of the four days I was there. Melanie suggested I use the kitchen facilities in the retreat center, and she went out of her way to ensure people were cleared out of the center when I needed to use the kitchen so I could maintain the solitude I was seeking. The bathroom facilities available to people staying in this cabin are a composting toilet and outdoor shower located about a block and a half walk through the organic gardens. I was surprised at how easy the compost toilet was to use, and not smelly. The shower is open air (with a privacy surround) and has hot water, however you need to coordinate with Dennis in getting the hot water heater working in advance of your shower in order to have hot water. I had no problems with this bathroom arrangement and found it a lovely addition to the rustic experience, however I can imagine it to be outside the comfort zone of those not used to camping or country living. Also, if you tend to need to use the bathroom during the night, be prepared for either a very dark nighttime walk to the toilet, or Melanie provides a bucket to use in the cabin if you don't want to make the nighttime trek. Drinking water is provided in a large water jug located outside the cabin and you need to haul additional water from a pump near the restaurant. Melanie and Dennis give you access to the gardens to harvest produce for your meals if you are doing your own cooking or you can arrange for meals to be brought to you, or you can eat in the restaurant. The bunk beds were amazingly comfortable and I slept better than I have in a while. I arranged...
