Peaceful home in the middle of a large wooded lot. Private yet easy drive to the interstate or quick drive to Springfield or scenic simple drive to Branson. A pleasant location to use as a tranquil getaway or just an overnight stay along Route 66.
The room is spacious and there is plenty of space to relax even with the Queen bed and dresser and side table. I have been told the Queen sized bed is cozy and will afford you a calm and tranquil night sleep. Most of the decor was inherited and when I go into this room makes me feel special. I hope that you can feel it too.
Roomy personal bathroom complete with custom walk in shower and built in bench will be shared with other guests if our other space is rented. Washcloths and towels available.
This room does not include a home cooked country breakfast, but it can be added.

Even though we are close to the interstate, we are still a few miles from the parts of town that have many restaurants to choose from. I like to offer guests the chance to order a home cooked evening meal, if your arrival is during the hours I'm serving dinner for the family. The kitchen is open to use, not to worry I have plenty of cooking tools for from scratch cooking. The formal living and family room is available to help you relax, we ask that you don't use the family room or the fenced back yard unless we are home. This space is where our pets live and they may never let you leave the house once you start to pet them. We live in our house and cook in our kitchen daily, so it may not appear picture perfect, but it is clean.

Interaction with us can be as much or as little as you like. We live in the home and will be available most of the time to help with directions or suggestions.
We have a few small dogs that would love to get to know you and give you what has become known by some as, pet therapy, to help you unwind from your drive and day. This is one of my favorite parts of the day.
Personally, we enjoy coffee on the side porch in the mornings or sitting on the bench in the quiet front yard in the afternoon. You are welcome to join us! If you choose to order one of my home cooked evening meals and something is needed out of the garden you can help pick it, join in the preparation or just relax with your feet up petting one of the dogs.
Springfield offers the University Plaza Convention Center, Juanita K Hammons Performing Arts Hall, Art Museum, 4 Universities, 3 hospitals, and home of the original Bass Pro.

Branson is an easy hour drive to see the sights and rides at Silver Dollar City, catch a Show or two, explore Shopping outlets and enjoy Table Rock Lake.
If you enjoy the outdoors, there are miles of shoreline along area lakes, floatable streams and rivers all close. There are urban trails, conservation areas ready to grab a hold of your senses.
I would like to say, "Please act as you would want a guest in your personal home to act". Then I am reminded this simple rule may be too broad for some.
Please be respectful of our home and property. If you make a mess, clean up after yourself. Smoking is limited to outside and a butt can or ash tray is available.
Bed time/quiet time is expected to be between 10 and 11 on most nights. If you are needing it to be earlier, we can adjust.

I am proud to say that I was raised an Army Brat, and spent most of my youth in Central Texas. My husband was raised in Colorado, Kansas City and this area. We met in this area and have been married, to each other, for over 25 years. We are still in love and consider each other to be our best friend.
We have a mid-sized veggie garden and I like to work (weed and plant) in it. I harvest the food from it for some same day meals. The excess we can for later meals in the off season. I enjoy canning other produce that comes from the orchards for off season meals.
I enjoy sewing and generally making things by hand. A couple of nieces have asked me to teach them to sew quilts, I'd like to say we had a fun and they learned a lot. I sell the things I make.
We have friendly chihuahuas that I take to conformation shows throughout the year. They are a joy and overall great companionship. For the most part they create fans where every they go.
We like old cars, and have a few old Volkswagen's, some run and drive and some are in various stages of restoration. We like going to car shows and looking at the cars entered as well as taking are VW's to the show. For us going to some of these shows is like going to a family reunion.
In a nutshell, I have a great deal of respect for faith and family, and you know I can't forget to include friends both old and new.
