There is a difference between shabby gentility and run down, cluttered and inappropriate for others. Moving in to someone else's messy life is not what I look for in the "whole accomodation" category of Airbnb rental. The indifference of the host combined with the dirty nature of the place (Im not picky either) and the fact that nothing worked- no internet (my problem to fix), hot water 1 in 5 uses, toilet broken (the water to it had been turned off for some hard to imagine reason), shower, bathroom and bedroom smeared with hair, bed smelled of sour sweat from the mattress so I slept on the floor, dishes with dried food stuck to them needing cleaning, try to pull a drape and the curtain rod falls on your head, left me wondering whether this was a the regional standard or an unlucky anomaly- certainly not what I have experience in the many other Airbnb places I have stayed. Location was not bad and it was spacious on the upside. I did not meet the host, rather I was met by a friend of the host who had minimal information and became immediately unavailable for questions. When the host was asked about the internet, I was referred back to the unavailable friend. I gave up after four unanswered requests. It was not cheap and it was not good.
