We had a fantastic two week stay in Montmorillon, and absolutely loved the house. We picked the location in the hope of getting some much needed R&R, and the house was absolutely perfect for that. We spent many hours sat out by the river, enjoying the sun and making the most of the local wine! Margaret was super-helpful and communicative, and gave us loads of advice and tips about things to do and places to see. The surrounding area is easy to explore if you have a car, and the scenery is beautiful. We'd love to come back!

An absolutely super spot. Beautiful home, wonderful location and garden. Sitting by the river was just perfect. Lots to do in the region and great being in Montmorillon town centre to not need the car all of the time. Loved it thank you Margaret!

Margaret’s house was just the perfect place for the holidays.  My aunt and I stayed there for a week during May and the flowers in the garden and all over the town were in bloom. We started our trip in Ireland, and Margaret had recommended we fly into Tours – a direct flight and a lovely drive down, and we visited some chateaus on our return trip - stunning!  The kitchen space was large and bright and had everything we needed for cooking and then some, so we enjoyed delicious meals (some of the food was bought from the Wednesday morning market right down the street!) and of course included in each one– wine, bread, and cheese. The only hiccup we had was working some of the appliances. We had to read her directions a few times to figure it out, but after that we were smooth sailing! The living room, bathroom/shower, basically everything made me feel at peace and at home.  She’d just replaced the windows and with the windows closed it was quiet and peaceful.  The room I stayed in (one with the day bed with the French doors) had great reading lights and a comfortable bed. I loved waking up, opening the windows and seeing the sunlight garden/river/town on the opposite bank, and listening to the birdsong. We also had a beautiful sunset view, watching the evening light color the sky and the rooftops across the river. As for our adventures – exploring the town right outside the door, lots of cute towns in the surrounding area to visit with markets, antique sales, the UNESCO Heritage site – L’Abbaye de St. Savin-sur-Gartempe, the gardens of Chateau de Touffou, and Montemart were among my favorites.  I really loved my stay and hope to be back soon!
