Brantley's place is a beautifully decorated apartment located within walking distance to a variety of shops and restaurants. My friends and I really enjoyed the location as it was quiet at night and we were not disturbed in our sleep. The apartment is quite cozy and it fit the four of us. Anymore than 4 people will be tight. 2 of us slept on the couch and the other 2 slept on the bed. Brantley is a great host with easy to follow instructions and prompt replies. The apartment has all the necessities - shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, cotton balls, q-tips, paper towels, and basic kitchen supplies. A great plus is the washer & dryer for a mid-vacation laundry session - detergent supplied by Brantley. There's also a back patio but we didn't use it due to concern for bugs. As much as the place is quaint, the biggest downside was the bugs. The apartment is the basement apartment and it's doorway is located under the ground level apartment's stairway. Garbage is stashed under the stairway and on the side of the stairwell leading to the apartment - which is right in front of the entrance to the apartment. The garbage smell is easily wafted into the apartment entrance & hallway when entering and makes entering & leaving the apartment unpleasant. Due to the location of the garbage - it attracted a lot of bugs. A lot, a lot of bugs. I would highly recommend finding a new spot to stash the trash to ensure future guests a comfortable stay. The individuals who stayed in the living room on the couch (near entrance & hallway) left with a couple bug bites all over their bodies. The apartment is great environment for bugs since it's located in the basement and is slightly muggy/damp. Uber/Lyft in DC is incredibly affordable. Since the apartment is located near Logan Circle - whenever my friends and I tried to order a Uber/Lyft; approximately 50% of them got lost in the circle by turning on a different street causing a longer pick up time or got frustrated and cancelled the trip all together. Set the pick up point a little further down the street (away from Logan Circle) to avoid the confusion even though you have to walk a bit.

It was our first ever Airbnb experience and Brantley's unit had such a welcoming atmosphere that we felt we were actually staying at a private B&B. He had clear instructions of how to function well within the unit, suggested places to go to, a lot of basic necessities such as: towels, hair dryer, laundry (great for long holidays and complete with supplies: laundry detergent and softener). You don't even need to bring q-tips and cotton balls (so helpful for women who wear make-up). The towels were placed out for us, we didn't have to look for them. Checking in was very convenient. Brantley also set our expectations as to when and how he will be communicating with us regarding checking in details. He was quick to respond which helped ease our worry about trying out AirBnb. His unit is located close to a lot of eating places as well. All the details he mentioned on his listing is accurate. If we. Ever get to visit Washington, DC again, we will definitely be looking up his place again. In fact, I find that we were very fortunate to have found Brantley's place and be our first. Airbnb experience. I wish all Airbnb listing owners are like Brantley.

Brantley's place has everything you need for cooking and an extended stay. Good location thought not super close to a metro stop. About 15 min walk to U street Shaw. It's in a basement so not much natural light or air flow but overall a great place.
