Recently reopened to Airbnb in June, so there's lots of bookings still available.

Cool temperatures at this 3600 elevation entire 2400 sq ft house listing. Here dreams come true with blue skies & year round mountain views. From the lovely spring flowers to the lush greenery during summer to the bright colors of the fall, the views are an artist inspiration.

Le logement

While all of your senses come alive, somehow the world really slows down here. You'll love listening to the sounds of nature while looking out at the mountain view and relaxing on the 360 degree deck or pausing at one of the locust benches along the 8 acres of walking trails and mossy creeks. If exploring nature is your thing you'll be in heaven here. The temperatures are refreshing at this 3600 elevation home, staying below 85 degrees. The wonderful tasting mountain water straight out of the faucet is plentiful and always refreshing. The 2400 sq ft warm knotty pine interior with spacious open floor plan contains a balance of antiques, leather, solid wood furniture and top of line mattresses. There are two large bedroom en-suites, one on the main level and another upstairs. Both bathrooms are also accessible from living area. There are granite counter tops in the FULLY furnished kitchen (equipped with stainless steel pots & pans, gas stove top and double convection ovens). The bedrooms have locks on the doors, the loft sleeping area does not. After dinner roast marshmallows at the fire pit, rock on the porch or use the Satellite TV or WiFi. Wish upon a star and if you're lucky you'll be visited by the local fireflies.

Carolyn was a terrific host. She was responsive, helpful, and thoughtful. She even added some cheery holiday devorations to greet us when we arrived. Everything was clean and extremely comfortable. And the view from the house was spectacular. I can't say enough about Carolyn and her house! I definitely would stay there again!

This was my family's first Airbnb experience, and it far exceeded our expections. Carolyn is a wonderful host and gave us all of the information we needed to have a splendid vacation. We'll definitely return!

The cabin is great and the surrounding area is amazing. The max patch hike has the best views in NC and the town of Hot Springs is a great day trip also. If you are looking for a private retreat away for it all, look no further. Very peaceful setting set up in the mountains with great views and a nice little creek nearby that you can hear on the porch. If you are planning on coming in the winter months, you will need an SUV with 4 wheel drive.

My family, including relatives visiting from France, had an amazing stay at OTR. If I were to say we enjoyed OTR immensely, it would be an understatement. The home is comfortable and very thoughtfully organized, and the mountain view is incredible. (We sat on the deck enjoying the mountain view for hours on end.) And note that Carolyn is an amazing host and easily (and please let me emphasize "easily") the best host I have ever had. She was thoughtful and responsive from the time of booking through arrival. Between her care in making sure we arrived safely, attention in making sure the house was prepared for us and the kids, and thoughtfulness put into organizing the home for guests in general, I have to say this was the best Airbnb host experience I've had to date. Carolyn has set the bar very high for hosting. In short, OTR made for an extremely special trip for my family and me. We look forward to returning!

OTR is an amazing place to vacation! It is in remote area, deep in the mountains, so if you want a relaxing break, away from society-this is a perfect, peaceful place! The house is beautiful, well equipt, well-kept inside and outside creating a cozzy, relaxing, spacious and beautiful atmosphere. The kitchen is specious and has everything you need. We were able to rest and have fun even on rainy days! There is a porch around the house overlooking the mountains, and in the back portion of the house there is a roof over the porch to protect from the rain with rocking chairs and table with chairs. We spent a lot of time there talking and playing games when it rained. Although we vacationned there early August, it was fairly cool-chilly outside and not too humid even with all the rain (compared to northern Florida weather). Fortunently there were also a lot LESS mosquitoes/bugs there then we enticipated. Although we had no cellphone servive, the wifi did work fairly well even on rainy days. We enjoyed exploring and hiking around the property which has beautiful trails and even saw a dear as we hiked around the property! The hostess is very kind and helpful with any questions we had. We also went hiking/exploring in Max Patch and Midnight Hole and loved both places! The only negative we have about OTR is the road leading to the house... you have to drive on gravel road that has sharp/steep curves for about a mile... which was very scary especially when we drove there for the first time, late in the afternoon on wet road. Good thing it was not yet dark outside- because it would have been terrifying driving through that kind of road if it was dark! But it was Totally WORTH it once we got to the house!

This home is wonderful! Amazing scenery, great location, and the ultimate getaway. Our group enjoyed lounging on the wraparound porch, sitting fireside, and grilling with quite the view. Carolyn is exceptionally helpful and a very compassionate host!

We love to travel but, the the Spring Creek community is our favorite place on earth. Whether it be socializing down at the cafe, hiking, biking, zip-lining, Hot Air Ballooning, at our place digging in the dirt or hanging out on one of our decks, we are never bored. We feel conn…
