Frank was an amazing host-- responsive, quiet, and friendly. I stayed here during my internship in the city. The apartment is extremely close to a subway stop (Q train) and it consistently took me about 40 min to get to Rockefeller Center which is pretty much Downtown/Times Square. Soho/Chinatown is 20 min. The neighborhood feels very authentically Brooklyn. I never felt unsafe, but it definitely had the ~trendy~ grunge and multicutural-ness that one would expect when thinking about stereotypical Brooklyn. It will be a shock if you're coming from a quiet suburb (like me), but I adjusted quickly. The room was big and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit utilitarian, but a lot of it can be accredited to the "historic/authentically NYC charm" that the building has. Overall, this felt like a very NYC apartment. Not Gossip Girl NYC, but closer to what it would actually be like to live in the city.
We had a good stay in Frank's room even though some small things could be perfected : great location (2 min walk from subway + several fast foods around), room is spacious and clean, bathroom is close and clean, the living room is in the other side of the apartment and separated with curtain, Frank was always very quick to respond and even if we did not meet, seems very Nice. For the small things I would recommend to improve : better cleaning of kitchen, fixing the shower (water was running from hot to cold to burning hot some times), adding more thick blankets (just in case).
Frank is great host extremely easy-going and always willing to help guests with all possible issues. A person to rely completely and who trust on his guests. Allowed check and check out in weird ours, always on touch via whatsap giving instantaneous advices and answers. Flat clean and just some steps from Parkside station line q to manhattan. Silence is a plus. You feel as living alone in the flat but for those seeking contact and interaction frank is very open to it! Thanks for your help!
I reserved this room for my daughter and her boyfriend who were visiting NYC from California. The listing was exactly as described, but was also quite clean and neat. In addition, the apartment is in the rear of the building so there is no street noise, which is an additional bonus! It is quite close to the beautiful Prospect Park, as well as the B/Q subway line, providing quick and easy access to Manhattan. We would definitely book this Airbnb room again. Thanks, Frank, for being a great host!!
Staying on Frank's house was an amazing experience. His house is closed to the subway station, that links directly to manhattan. It is also near to the prospect park, which is a beautiful place that many tourists do not know about. Frank is a very nice guy and helpful. He was willing to help us and it was easy to contact him by phone. The room is wide and the house is clean.
