My bright and airy apartment in hip Crown Heights is the perfect haven for your visit to the bustling NYC. With a backyard, high ceilings, and charming global decor, it is a great spot to experience the 'authentic' Brooklyn experience.

Le logement

The apartment is a high-ceilinged, bright and open, one-bedroom parlor apartment in a classic Brooklyn brownstone. It is furnished with antiques, international gems, and street finds (you guess which is which!) that make for a unique and homey experience. Each piece of art has been adored, and lovingly placed - observe photos of my great grandparents in Hawaii in the 1940s, or folk art by a Guatemalan artist on daily life in a rural indigenous community.

The house has a dining room, living room (where you will place an air mattress for visits with more than two guests), bathroom with shower, and a private bedroom with yard entrance.

You can enjoy a coffee on my loveseat as you page through my book collection. Or bring your afternoon wine glass outside and sit beneath the bistro lights.

Accès des voyageurs

The full apartment is for your use. The yard is shared among a couple other apartments.

Bridget's place is spacious and quiet. The neighborhood is great and there is easy access to the subway and busses. Her bed (a full) was a bit too soft for my taste. Bridget was really responsive and gave some great suggestions for our trip.

Bridget's place is everything you'd expect. Her place is fun and eclectic as is evident from all her world traveling memorabilia she has displayed. It's in a good area close to transit. She was available to answer our questions both before we arrived and afterwards as well. I would definitely like to stay here again the next time we visit.

My friend and I loved staying at Bridget's place! It's a great apartment with lots of natural light and character in an awesome location -- close to bars, restaurants, and shops, yet also a quiet residential neighborhood. Bridget was extremely helpful and responsive.

Such a cool spot! You can tell they really put time into their decor. The apartment itself is on a lovely, not to mention extremely safe, residential street. It has the highest ceilings I've ever seen and the huge windows let in amazing light. They provided recommendations on local places to check out and it was a big help. We had fun exploring the neighborhood and had some great meals. The kitchen is modern with great counter space. We didn't cook but if we had a longer stay it would have been easy and well equipped. They have tea and coffee available for guests and it was clutch in the morning. There's no TV but they don't advertise one so that was to be expected. There's a bunch of games and it was a welcomed change instead of sitting in front of the tube at night. It says pet friendly so we brought our dog. The backyard was extremely handy for this purpose. The only downside was we had to pay an extra $25 to the cleaning fee. Overall we would definitely stay here again!

We (me + husband + Marcus Garvey the dog) loved, loved, LOVED staying at Bridget's place. When we decided to come back for Labor Day weekend, we knew we wanted to stay off of Franklin Avenue. We used to live in this neighborhood 10 years ago when it was on the cusp of being gentrified (THEN: one family run grocery store on Franklin, one Jamaican restaurant that only was open 2 hours a day, and the Chinese fast food place versus NOW: hipster coffeeshops, bars, organic grocery stores, A STARBUCKS -- this blew my mind, restaurants galore), and coming back was bittersweet. Staying at Bridget's beautifully decorated and large (for NYC) apartment was the perfect place to base our Labor Day activities. Super easy to find parking, and EASY access to the train and the West Indian Day Parade. We barely left the neighborhood (other than to drive to Flushing for some delicious Chinese food). It's an easy walk to Prospect Park and we ate breakfast every morning and lunch every day at a restaurant either on Franklin, Vanderbilt or Washington. We went out at night to one of the many bars that are in the neighborhood. It's nice to not have to think about transportation after drinking...the stumbling home in 10 minutes is key. The backyard was a wonderful amenity (although mosquitoes galore which is not Bridget's fault, but nature's. If I could deduct stars for nature, I would because the mosquitoes were no joke.) But if that wasn't enough, here are two additional reasons why Bridget is an amazing host and they both relate to keys and us being annoying guests: 1. We had to drive from DC and we weren't going to get there until really late. I contacted Bridget beforehand and we were able to arrange a key drop off with our friend. 2. I stupidly locked myself out of the apartment. With the dog. Minus his leash. Thankfully, I had my phone. I was able to contact Bridget and she was able to help us get back into the apartment without any problems. She also was super kind about it, and did not treat me like the nuisance that I was ! At the end of the day, the husband and I would stay here again. Marcus Garvey the dog would not - but that has nothing to do with the apartment (which he loved) and more to the fact that he is now lives the suburban life and does not understand why there wasn't more access to grassy knolls in Brooklyn. But he's weird and a dog, so don't trust him. Trust the humans -- we loved it.
