I'm renting a Tatami Room with access to the living/dining room. The Tatami Room is the only sleeping area on the first floor. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood. An ideal place for someone who wants to avoid crowds and to be in tasteful area.

If you are looking for the true tranquility of Kyoto, don't miss Akena's home. I can't love the neighbourhood better. Akena is also very kind and accommodating, a great host!

Akane is the perfect host. Her house is a delight, in a very nice friendly but cool area in the north, everything is easy to reach by bike or by tube. She will have great tips for you, so dont hesitate to ask, and if you are lucky you will get her fantastic japanese special breakfast, once or twice;) The house looks like in a magazine, a combination of japanese and western world. With lovely details, art and collectibles, and great little flowerarrangements. Kyoto is a great destination. I will defenitly come back. Thanks Akane, for a wonderful 10 days stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Akane's. Everything was just as shown on the site, very comfortable and lovely. The neighborhood is quiet but there are little shops and cafes within easy walking distance. also, it is very near two good bus lines, making it very easy to get around Kyoto. Akane's good english was a big help in navigating the city, and she is a really nice person. would highly recommend to anyone.

We stayed at Akane's place for 4 nights during our travels around Japan. Akane was a wonderful host and we felt very welcome during our stay! She was always available to give us some tips and she even came with us to the local market place. Also she made us an amazing Japanese breakfast which we thoroughly enjoyed! The house itself is cozy and clean and in a quiet neighborhood not far from the subway station. Once we were familiar with the area it was very easy for us to go where we wanted to visit. Overall we would be very happy to return the next time we are in Kyoto. Thank you for everything Akane!

We stayed at Akane's house for 5 days. Akane is a really wonderful host but also a great person! She is an artist and her house is very well designed (I'm speaking also as architect). She gave us usefull information about the city and we had great time discussing with her about so many interesting subjects!!! The neibourhood is in the north part of the city but not far from the main touristic spots. I strongly recommend Akane and her house if you plan to visit Kyoto!!!

Akane's place is even nicer in real life than on the photos! It's a traditional house, very clean and comfortably decorated. It was a pleasure waking up in it every morning! A couple of things to note though: No pocket wifi. We definitely needed one. Quite difficult to locate. And less privacy.
