Walter and his guests were dishonest and lacked communication . His reservation clearly stated 2 guests, but upon arrival there were 3. He did not communicate this to us or ask if this was ok, which it would have been if he had. Another thing he did not communicate with us was the storage of his 3 dirty mountain bikes that he chose to store in our living room. Again, if he had communicated this with us, we could have stored his bikes in a safe area outside with a bike lock. The morning of their checkout, they came to us with alarming news that we had bed-bugs. They provided a 3x3 plastic baggy of what appeared to be an already dead adult bed-bug and only provided ONE. They proceeded to tell us that we have an infestation and complained to Airbnb. The facts of this seemed completely ludicrous, as they were our first guests in a month and we regularly clean and do our own laundry in the rental (we have our washer and dryer in the unit). They also told us that they themselves had been traveling for 3 weeks and used their own sheets in our rental. All fingers pointed to them bringing this 1 single bed bug into our home, already dead. After they left I immediately inspected the rental myself and found nothing. An exterminator come to our home and inspected our rental thoroughly, to which they provided documentation stating no activity or evidence of bed-bugs anywhere. All through this process Walter kept requesting a refund. Luckily Airbnb was able to mediate and they provided him a refund through their own account. But the real kicker was when I went to clean my rental and discovered missing dishes. When I brought this to Walters attention he denied and lied. I had left at least 6 dishes and 4 bowls, but Walter seems to think there were less, to which I cannot understand how. When I asked for compensation of $50 he was very rude. Worst guests ever. Hosts beware.
