Although you may be on holiday this is where we live and work, believe it or not, yes we are happy about it as well :-) We will of course help you with information and take you to the local fresh market but for the rest you can explore Hua Hin and surroundings on your own.
Many people pass through Hua Hin on their way south to Phuket, Ko Samui, Ko pha ngan and Trang or on their way back to Bangkok. Hua Hin is known for the Kings (summer) retreat palace. Hua hin is not really for party people although there are some bars. we are not party people and we hope you are not as well. Hua hin is a great place to either slowly start your SE Asian trip or to slowly get back to (the reality of) your return home country. Please contact me for special long term rental prices!! >>>
Host and general info:
•In the morning I do yoga/meditation, so unless it is urgent please wait with questions until after 10:00 AM.
•Don’t bring drugs into the house. This is not a country to get caught!!!
•Please be respectful of Thai ways and customs, especially when going to temples or interaction with local people. You are a guest in their country and they will rarely say no because of their tradition but that does not mean they actually mean yes!
•There are some monkey’s in kao Takiab. DO NOT feed them because they have been known to become overly excited (aggressive)
* The house is non-smoking but you can smoke on your own balcony, outside, and on the front terrace.
•At 08:00 and 18:00 (6 pm) you will hear them play the national anthem on loudspeakers outside, this usually only lasts about 1 minute. After that it is completely quiet again.
•Keep screen doors and windows closed for mosquito’s and other local animals like cats and bugs
•When using the air-conditioning make sure the outside door and windows are closed
•When you leave the room to go out, turn off lights and air conditioning and if I am not home make sure to close and lock the front door as well.
•You can use the kitchen and fridge
•Ask me about the wifi password if you need it. (please don’t use it for adult things or downloading music or movies!)
We expect you to respect our private life (work/sleep hours) like we respect yours. Besides that: we're all in for some good times!
Long term rentals only:
Fair use policy regarding use of air-conditioning for long term stays.
Due to a recent, hopefully isolated incidence, I would like to add a Fair usage policy for the air-conditioning/electricity, for long term stays.
The use of air-conditioning and thus the electricity bill is included in the room rate however this is based on the fair usage policy which is explained below:
Fair usage can mean: Perhaps during the night and maybe some hours during the day
Un-fair usage means: All night and most of the day
Of course you can stay in your room during the day but having your air-conditioning on pretty much all day and all night full blast I will have to charge you the extra costs for electricity due to high usage of air-conditioning. Electricity is quite expensive and especially for air-conditioning. There are many days when a fan will be enough.
I am sure we can work this out and like I said, I hope my recent experience was an isolated case.

Hi, I am Robbert and I live in beautiful Hua Hin in Thailand. I am quite relaxed and chill and so that's the kind of people I look for to stay with me. You should be able to entertain yourself as life goes on for me as well even though you might be on vacation.
I am originally from The Netherlands (Holland) but have lived an expat or nomadic lifestyle since the tender age of 1 ½ years young moving to Germany. Since then I have lived, studied, worked and volunteered in Volksdorf Germany, San Rafael California and Laramie Wyoming USA, Halifax Canada, Cote d’Azur France, Sikkim and Rishikesh India and Bangkok and Hua Hin in Thailand. In between these adventures I traveled in The Netherlands and throughout Europe.
I have had my own counseling practice called Expatriate Counseling for 13 years, the very first coaching and counseling practice specifically geared only towards expats and by an expat. Now my practice is more geared towards Expat Nomad life Coaching. Don't worry, I won't analyze you! :-)
I speak English and Dutch fluently, I learned Spanish but unfortunate never used it, I speak a little German and learning Thai now.
