We love this area and started on the restoration of the Mill and Mill cottage with relish. Then we built the 4 beautiful architect designed apartments. These provide eco-friendly 4 star accommodation that blends in well with the natural feel of the surroundings.
It's a beautiful spot and has much history - we found out that our old gardener "joachim" was actually born there in the 1920's . There are still the donkey tracks and dry stone walls which must have taken so much toil and effort to build over the generations. There remains the old smugglers routes from Spain - used for many years , and most recently in the Salazar regime when some basic goods were banned or highly taxed. We even found an old coin dated 1863 - definately pre-euro!
So, we enjoy being able to let the past survive in a way, and share with our guests this wonderful place.
