Walk to EVERYTHING in DC! English Basement unit located less than 1.5 blocks from Shaw metro, 4 blocks from the Convention Center, 5 blocks from the bustling U Street Corridor, 6 blocks from 14th Street. Steps from DC's largest grocery store (Giant).

Le logement

This apartment is truly the best in comfort and convenience. Completely renovated within the last couple years to include custom woodwork, living room fireplace, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and more. The 80" projector screen and surround sound allows you to watch movies, the big game, and any of our premium cable channels in your own private theater. Outdoor space (including new grill) is a shared space with the upstairs unit. A large desk and office area offers the perfect space for those who aren't able to leave business at home. The bedroom includes a comfortable queen sized bed and new furniture. Large washer/dryer in unit can also be used by guests.

Note: the only bathroom is located in the rear of the unit, and the ceiling is a bit lower than the rest of the house. If you are of above average height (6'2 and above), this might be a bit awkward for you. The remainder of the unit is regular ceiling height.

Since I normally have guests arriving and departing on the same day, I kindly ask that you do not request early check-ins or late check-outs unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Autres remarques

Outdoor space includes patio furniture and a new gas grill, but the space is shared with the upstairs unit. The exit for the outdoor space was designed as an emergency exit door and is bit awkward - its about 3/4 the size of a normal door. Not ideal for those who may have injuries or disabilities that affect flexibility and movement.

Airport Transportation:

For those flying into DCA, an UberX will cost you around $13-$15. You can also take metro (Yellow line from DCA to U Street).

For those flying into Dulles, an UberX will cost you around $45. Regular taxi is roughly $75-$80. For public transportation, there's a bus that takes you from the airport to a metro station on the Orange/Blue line, and then you'd take the train to either McPherson Square (same lines) or U Street (yellow/green).

L appartement était très bien , très bien situé aussi et très bien équipe. La seule chose qui n allait pas mais Brantley n y peux rien ç est le bruit des voisins du dessus en pleine nuit .

Le quartier est excellent, très bien situé, à proximité du métro. Calme et sécurisé. Appartement charmant avec tout ce dont on peut avoir besoin. Le lave linge, le sèche linge et les toilettes modernes sont un réel atout. Brantley est au service et répond rapidement même si nous ne l'avons pas rencontré. Les deux seuls bémols : l'isolation est insuffisante par rapport au bruit de l'étage et l'alarme incendie qui se déclenche dès que vous voulez cuisiner (même avec la hôte allumée). Ceci dit je recommande quand même cet appartement. Merci Brantley.

This is the second time I have stayed here for work. The location is fantastic, and the unit is very cozy and tucked away. It was particularly convenient for me as it's 2-3 blocks from the Metro Station.

It was a great place in a great neighborhood. There is a supermarket right up the street for your convenience and small restaurants surrounding the area. The house was great and I loved that we had the whole place to ourselves. It was super clean and everything was available to us from wine glasses to extra toilet paper. If You don't mind walking or taking the train,this area is perfect for both. Brantley was great at communicating us and quite frankly, We didn't even need to message him much while we stayed. I highly recommend this location !

The place was very cool and convenient to where we wanted to be in DC. Nothing to say that hasn't been said in other reviews besides there are some mechanical engineering books on the bookshelf that brought back terrible memories of undergrad.

Highly, highly recommend. Super easy check-in/out, great location (1 block from Giant grocery and several bars/restaurants, even coffee shops, within a block or two), plenty of space and amenities for a very reasonable price. Brantley is both a responsive and an accommodating host. We'd definitely stay again!

My parents stayed in this apt. for 5 days. They were very disappointed. Kitchen floor was dirty, dishwasher and tv sound were broken, host was unreachable, very loud upstairs neighbors past 1:30 am (heavy footsteps and partying.) My Mom said 'this is the worst Airbnb I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot.' Spend your money elsewhere! We will be trying to get some of ours refunded!

I was shocked and, frankly, very confused by this review, as it is mostly inaccurate. Firstly, I was completely reachable by both phone and via Airbnb message during her parents' stay. In fact, Emily and I corresponded on Airbnb a few days into their stay about an unrelated matter, and she failed to mention ANY of the concerns that she describes here. Had she or her parents communicated any of these issues to me, I would have quickly and easily resolved them. Secondly, the TV sound is not broken. I clearly explained how to control the sound on the TV projector in my initial welcome message on Airbnb, but if her parents did have any questions about it I would have gladly clarified, had they asked. Thirdly, not once did she or her parents alert me that the upstairs neighbors were loud, and this is my first time hearing of the disturbance. If they had let me know, I would have been able to intervene immediately with the neighbors to quiet them down. Finally, yes the dishwasher is not currently operational and will be undergoing repairs soon, but that's why I don't even list it as an amenity anywhere on the listing for the apartment. As you'll see from my previous reviews I am always very communicative and responsive to guests needs. But I can only address any issues if I know about them. It's unfortunate that this guest chose not to communicate her questions or concerns.
