Surprised by this review, as all of the others for this space were very positive. Not surprised though as this male couple seemed very odd from the get go. Their main concern and focus after their long drive was to ask me for any beer that was on hand or left in the frig! I obliged and they seemed a little blitzed, but happy.
Firstly, as is proven in my Airbnb message thread, this guest was running late driving from Orlando and asked for a late check in around 6:15 PM. I was there all day waiting for them, helping my cleaning crew and monitoring the guest's ETA. When they arrived I was there on time, my cleaning crew was finished, and the space was clean and ready.
Secondly, there are 2 dead bolts on the front door. Both function properly.
Regarding the AC units, both are new and completely cool the apartment. Some guests even mention turning them down when it gets too cool. The cord on one unit was plugged in but was a bit short so it rubbed up against a desk chair. I ran out immediately and picked up a new extra long cord and was back in 15 minutes. The guest failed to mention that. They also mention a bedroom window that does not open. Duh... If the window opened the air conditioner would fall out! Brilliant!
When the guest mentioned the so called holes, I fail to see them. The floors have been refinished and any imperfections are due to the Historical nature of this property. I resent the fact that they intentionally refer to the holes as "rodent sized" to imply that they were caused by rodents. There are no rodents whatsoever, which is why I question the agenda or intention of these travelers.
Also, I question their description of the basement as abandoned. What does that mean? At no time did this guest even have access to the basement. No, nobody lives in the basement, but abandoned? The no trespassing sign in the basement window keeps neighbors from walking their dogs on the lawn. That is its purpose and for the most part, it works.
Lastly, in reference to bedding, the linens are laundered after each guest. I did not notice an odor nor did my cleaning crew. I even checked in on these two during their stay and they mentioned nothing of the sort. I would have gladly brought out some more fresh linens if they had. They obviously didn't see the extra soap in the linen closet either or have the forethought to look for the Wifi password on the sheet provided or the modem. They were correct on one point. I do not provide shampoo.
