We built this beautiful contemporary house in 2010 to use as a residence for artists and organise art exhibitions. In between such events we offer it to visitors likely to appreciate its architecture, design and decoration. It has been mentioned in architecture books and events, notably for its wooden elements and low-energy qualities.
Your Home Away from Home:
We offer you to stay in a beautiful and private contemporary house, located in Watermael-Boitsfort, green area of Brussels, near Bois de la Cambre (perfect for walking, jogging or cycling), the lively university area and just a quick bus ride to the historical city centre.
Our house is composed of two floors: one with the living room and kitchen and one with the two bedrooms and bathroom. There is in addition a basement with a garage, additional toilets and laundry and a 60 square metres rooftop terrace!
The house is tastefully decorated, contains contemporary art pieces and has everything you need for your stay in Brussels. We live in another house just at the other end of the garden and are available to help with questions about restaurants, the area and getting around Brussels. The lovely roof terrace overlooks the whole area and also our garden with its cherry and pear trees. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful from up here and sipping a glass of wine in a lounge chair, reading a magazine and watching the sun go down is one of our favourite experiences in this house!
As the garden connects your house with ours, we may if you so wish socialize and organise barbecues, or protect your intimacy. The garden is angled, providing more privacy.
–Wireless internet is always available
–we provide coffee/tea
–a private garage (with automatic door) for a large car
–two bedrooms (1 queen bed and 2 twins)
–a foldable bed can be made available for a 5th person
(URL HIDDEN) a laundry in the basement, with washing-machine, dryer, additional fridge, freezer, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner
–the kitchen is full size and fully equipped (electric oven, gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, coffee pot, kettle…).
–sheets and towels are provided

–the house has a television. We do not have access to cable or satellite TV, but we can lend hundreds of DVDs, from Kubrick to Disney, from Capra to John Waters, from Kurozawa to Pixar (the whole family are cinephiles!)
The street is quiet (narrow and one-way). The house is very well insulated so you will not be disturbed by any noise.
Within a radius of 200 metres you will find all necessary stores: Bakery, cheese shop, butcher, fish shop, wine shop and wine bar, italian trattoria, grocery store, tuck shop, night shops, pharmacy.
We are five minutes’ walk from the students’ area with its bakeries, bookshops, restaurants, brasseries and bars and just a quick bus ride to downtown attractions. We are less than one kilometre away from Empain House (a beautifully restored art deco mansion, now a museum) and from the embassies district.
We also have a great organic market on Sundays that attracts a big crowd. It is reachable by bus (10 minutes) or by car in less than five minutes and located in an area of architectural interest (The “cité du logis – floréal”)
At 50 metres: bus 95 (Relais station) and Noctis (night bus on week-end), serving European District, antiques district (Sablons) and museums (Ancient art, Magritte, Musical intruments, Bozar) and the Grand-Place.
In 5 minutes’ walk: trams 25 and 94 (Solbosch station). 94 serves downtown through avenue Louise. Place Poelaert station serves Les Marolles district / flea market.
The university area also offers several “villo stations” (stations where you can rent and drop city bikes for a modest price)
We are very family friendly (since we have three kids ourselves, spanning from 22 to 6!), and we love hosting kids. We have lots of books and toys you can borrow while here.
We just would like kids to be well-behaved as we have white walls and some fragile works of art !
Please also note that the house may not be suitable for babies who are starting to walk as the staircase is quite steep and not protectable as you will see from the pictures, the last one in particular.
For the comfort of its guests, this house is non-smoking and pets are not allowed.
Please feel free to email us with any questions, we would be happy to help
