Charming 1880s townhome on Upper East Side. 3 floors, 2,700 sq ft. Backyard, roof deck, gourmet kitchen, tin ceilings, wide plank wood floors & jacuzzi tub. 5 mins walk to Central Park; near major museums & convenient to transportation. This is our family home we are renting while living in San Francisco.
This is an entire house in the heart of Manhattan on a quiet, street-lined block of family houses. 2,700 square feet! 4 big bedrooms, 4 full updated bathrooms, a roof deck, a garden, a huge living room and dining room and a large gourmet kitchen! Where else can you find plenty of quiet space for up to ten people and still be minutes away to all of NYC's major attractions?!
No one else uses the house; it is entirely yours to use with care except for a second kitchen and the basement storage area. (If you would like two full kitchens to use, we can arrange that for an extra cleaning fee.)
Please be aware there are stairs and the house, while child-friendly, is not childproofed. If you have small children who will not be under constant supervision, or have anyone who has challenges with stairs, this is not the house for you.
Accès des voyageurs
Access to entire house and yard as well as indoor heated current pool next door! (There is a second kitchen which is closed off but you can arrange that for an extra cleaning fee.)
Note on pool: The pool is in my mother's house and only accommodates one swimmer at a time or several children. Our boys, when under 6 years old, would swim together and take private lessons on Sunday nights. Children under 18 must be supervised at all times.
For an adult, you can do laps against a current for exercise. It also can function as a jacuzzi for 4-6 people. Access is pretty flexible but must be arranged in advance via my mother or brother. Generally it's open but my mother uses it once or twice a day for her arthritis. My brother will let you in almost any time (except the middle of the night) if you arrange it with him in advance!

We will be there to greet you and show you around. Otherwise we may check in to see how your stay is going but will give you your privacy. However, our family lives down the street and is almost always available for any issues or questions.
We want you to enjoy New York and our home. Be aware, however, that we have lived here many years... Our family lives two doors down and we know all of the neighbors for more than 30 years. If you are planning to visit with a loud party group, or sneak in extra people, we WILL hear about it. This is not a crash pad but a restored antique brownstone on a quiet block where we know everybody. That gives you extra assurance so of this is what you are seeking, we welcome you, as will our family and neighbors who are kind and inviting.
We've been renting 9 months now and only had problems once out of dozens of renters. Almost everyone has been super lovely and we've enjoyed meeting and communicating with folks!
If you'd like to bring a pet, please contact owner for terms. Please note that the house has stairs and is not child-proofed.
This is our family home! We are in San Francisco for work for a few years with our two boys. Our family lives next door.
We welcome families and groups of friends but this is not a party pad, it is a restored 1880's house with lots of detail. We expect you to respect the space while you enjoy it. No smoking or parties. Please leave it broom clean and take out garbage on pick up days and clean your dishes. Thank you!
If you have children under 2 please contact us; there are many childproofed features but it is NOT completely childproofed. We very occasionally allow trained pets for an additional fee.
P.s. We clean it right before you come but it's a big house! If you'd like to arrange for cleaning DURING your stay (especially if you stay longer than a week) please message me. We can generally arrange this at cost.
