This one of a kind space is set up as a Japanese style artist studio decorated with handcrafted shoji art and origional paintings. The shoji art is made with Japanese washi paper and features work from a nearby paper craftshop. The paintings and prints are also all one of a kind original and created by local artists.

Sleeping is done on Japanese style futon, which can be efficiently put away in the closet during the day for extra living space.

There is a kitchennete attached to the studio and a separate bathroom/shower near the toilet. There is an outdoor balcony attached to the studio but we recommend guests step outside the apartment out to the stairwell if they wish to smoke.

The artists studio is Japanese style so please remember to take your shoes off when entering the room. Also please be considerate of our neighbors in the building when checking in and out. It is polite to smile and say Konichiwa during the day or kobanwa in the evening as a greeting.

Finally please take care to not damage the art on the walls and most of all enjoy the space and neighborhood.

Had issues with initial communication. Sent 3 messages before getting a fairly last minute response. Check in guide is poorly formatted and outdated and does not include a picture of the entrance, so we had a hard time finding the place. Would be much better if these were updated and communication was more frequent. The place and location are decent, the art is cool! We had no hot water for the first day, but Byron was helpful with the issue, offering to pay for a trip to the local onsen. In the end, our stay was decent, but I would not stay again due to the stress involved.

The apartment was clean and cozy and great as your base of operations: very conviently located to metro and rail hubs. Quick and easy access to the Skyliner when headed to and from Narita airport. Neighbourhood is quiet, scenic, and has a great street located nearby with food and pastries. Great bath house located 1 minute away. Instructions for check-in were easy to follow and Byron always replied in a timely manner, although I always like to communicate a while in advance. It was a wonderful experience and a great place to stay! Thanks Byron!

This was my first stop in Japan, and I'm more than thrilled that Byron's was available. If you're looking for an authentic Japanese experience, the location couldn't be better - just two blocks away from a metro stop, 7/11, and one of the more local streets in Tokyo (if you walk out of the apartment to the left, go up that street for a block and make another left - I explored it on one of my last nights and was just upset I hadn't found it sooner!). Byron's traditional tatami room was also beautiful and the perfect size for a solo traveler. Neighbors were quiet and the building is very safe. I'd recommend this stay and would come again - after exploring areas like Roppongi and Shibuya, coming home to this apartment was one of the better luxuries.

This is a lovely studio in a great location. It has all what is needed. Perfect for one person and probably ok for 2 people that are exploring a lot since from Yanaka one ca go almost anywheare very easily. The mobile wifi is very useful (beware that battery life is only 3-4 hours so it wont last a whole day of rooming around if you have it on all the time). Thanks for great stay
