Designed by world renowned architect Greg Burgess, this stunning home, which has been an artists retreat for many years, is now available as an airbnb.
This rustic home would be just as perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway as it would for four couples looking for a dynamic holiday or even several families looking for a place to stay together whilst maintaining privacy.
The New Zealand Karri outdoor traditional Japanese spa can fit 6-8 adults and is a lovely way to unwind in the evening.
The 100 year old cottage area has two double sized beds which are separated by a pot belly fire and several comfy couches. The contemporary renovation wing has a queen size bed and the separate studio has a queen downstairs and a queen and one single bed in the loft. This area also has a pot belly wood fire.
There are large outdoor sheltered dining areas, as well as smaller garden nooks where a couple might have breakfast or sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.
Accès des voyageurs
You will have the whole place to yourselves. Have a wander around the various wings of the house and choose the room that best suits you. With it's own bathroom, kitchen, potbelly fire and bushland views, the studio is a home within a home. However, the master kitchen in the cottage extension is still best to cook in.

We'll be available on the phone at any time.
We supply pillows and some doonas (five to be exact) but not the bed sheets, doona covers, pillow cases, tea towels, shower matts or body towels. Please bring your own.
In Summer, please download the Fire Ready app and pay close attention to alerts for total fire ban days, bushfire warnings etc etc.
We will supply essentials like soap, toliet paper, tea, sugar, salt and pepper.
If you are with Telstra you will enjoy good mobile reception, Optus users will have to walk up the driveway a couple of hundred meters to enter reception.
We're in a drought and rely on tank water so please don't be a wolly with water:) Short 2 min showers and guys, if you are up for it, find a thirsty plant, flower or tree to wee on; great for the garden and saves on toilet flushes!
If there is a dull drone of a noise coming from the spa and it's getting on your nerves, it's either cleaning itself (this will last an hour), or the previous guests have left the 'pump circulation' on indefinitely. To turn this off, simply press the pump circulation button on the wooden spa itself, (beside the button marked 'bubbles').
Please bring your own bed linen, towels, tea towels etc.
The cottage feels remote, however sound reverberates far and the neighbours enjoy the tranquility. For their sake, please keep the noise down; no loud music or rowdy behaviour sorry guys! In particular please don't play loud music outside.
The Cottage uses rain water and it's a draught, so please use water responsibly and keep showers relatively short.
Upon leaving, put your rubbish and recycling in the outside bins, making sure to flatten boxes and cans as the remoteness of this location prohibits regular rubbish removal.
Before leaving, please wash and put away your dishes, (apologies if this seems obvious:)
This is a wildlife sanctuary and as such operates under the same rules as a national park. Please be sensitive and respectful when in nature; leave the bush as you found it without taking from or disturbing it.
In winter, there are two indoor fire places to enjoy. Please use the dust pans to empty the coal out into the garden, plants love this:)
For the outdoor fire pit, please only use wild fallen timber scavenged from nature. The cut wood is to be used only for the indoor fire places.
Please do not go onto the neighbours properties (on all sides). Basically, don't cross or climb through fences. Follow markers strictly as the neighbours are very private people and take trespassing seriously. You can however walk north east up into the black range sanctuary behind the cottage as this is crown land.
If you should choose to sleep in the loft, please be careful climbing the ladder and beware that there is no guard rail. Supervise your children as they climb the ladder. The ladder may feel to be a little rickety, however it is secured in three places and safe.
Please do not flush tampons, cleaning products, nappies or condoms etc as they will obstruct the septic tank.
When leaving, please make sure all the doors are locked, widows closed, fans off, lights out, heaters off, gas (for spa and bbq) switched off. You can leave the pilot light lit in the AGA stove but make sure the burners are off. Also, please double check that the water level in the spa is above the white water inlets as this will allow the spa to self clean. There is a garden hose on the side of the studio to allow you to refill the spa. Make sure to turn the hose off as soon as the water is above the inlets.
Return house key to key safe and lock.
