Le logement

A quaint bedroom with open hand hewed beams and painted hardwood floors with a very comfortable cast iron twin bed and a brand new mattress up a steep staircase in the oldest cape-style farmhouse in Perry, Maine. You will be surrounded by beauty- a vegetable garden to the south, a lake shore to the west, a stunning old barn and apple trees to the north and open fields and forest to the east.

Accès des voyageurs

Kendall Farm is a freshwater farm on the salty coast. Guests will enjoy 45-acres of fields and forest along the shores of Boyden Lake. Guests may enjoy a nap in the hammock, a paddle in our canoe or the zen of weeding. The property has been in our family for 5 generations. We have a heritage apple orchard, an organic garden with rhubarb, raspberries, grapes and blueberries. A very easy going cat named Seamus lives with us and we often have fowl of some sort, chickens or ducks on the property. Our barn has a ping-pong table and 2 awkward swings. We are located at the easternmost tip of the United States on the Bold Coast and Canadian border, the last relatively untouched frontier on the east coast.

Depending on my work schedule we could have a meal together. I would be happy to share best kept secrets of the area--where to eat, drink, shop and explore.

Autres remarques

We do ask for a two night minimum at the farm house. Washington County receives only 3% of Maine tourists so I promise you it is off the beaten path, beautiful, real and we are authentic and down-to-earth!

Coming to the farm house is like coming home to see family. Georgie is a warm and light hearted host. My room was cozy and I slept like a log. That area of Maine is a slice of Heaven on earth, near enough for day jaunts, hiking, far enough to relax and refresh your soul.

I had a great stay on the Kendall farm! Georgie was kind and welcoming and even helped me out with a last-minute issue before I arrived. The location is gorgeous too!

Georgie contacted me a few days prior to my arrival. She was there when I arrived at her amazing five generations farmhouse on 40+ acres. She introduced me to her animals: ducks, chickens and Seamus the friendly cat. Georgie had a "can-do" attitude and helped with my last-minute complications.

Georgiana (Georgie) Kendall is a 5th generation Kendall living in her family’s 200-year old farmstead on 45-acres of deciduous forest, open fields of wildflowers on the water's edge with her dog-like cat named Seamus. Georgie has an undergraduate degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada and a Master's degree from the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Following graduate school she joined the Peace Corps and served as a school and community resource volunteer in South Africa. Since her return a decade ago Georgie has worked in the fields of social services and economic development from training and education to owning an ever changing collection of small businesses-- The Red Sleigh, gallery, gifts and a gourmet farmers' market for 5 years, Kendall Farm Cottages, a seasonal rental business on her farm for 15 years and started Red Sleigh Tours a year ago. Georgie's passion other than her home is travel. She travels at least once a year to a different international destination. She loves local markets, learning about different cultures, eating different foods, and scuba diving whenever possible.
As your hostess at Kendall Farm you can be sure she will share with you the history and culture of the area, the wonders of the natural environment the area has to offer, veggies and homemade wine from the farm. Georgie has a plethora of knowledge and information to share with you about where to go and what to see when you are staying in her neck of the woods in Downeast, Maine and 50 other countries if that interests you too!
