A unique, quirky vessel, the carapace comprises an upturned lifeboat hull mounting the back of a Dodge fire engine. The main bed, a boat within a boat within a boat. Moored on estuarine mudflats opposite Shoreham town and RSPBs' smallest reserve.
Then Houseboat Dodge is accessed over the roof of the Clive, a former WW2 Motor Torpedo Boat undergoing conversion to become substantive workshop facility and offers seating and BBQ area on it's rear deck. The accommodation comprises two double beds and a bench viewing seat in the front bedroom that may be converted to a single. Entrance into the main cabin, the bed when not in use is easily chain winched into the roof space (gloves provided) underneath is the dining area and forward of that, general seating and stove. Galley kitchen with L:PG cooker, fridge and usual facilities. Bath, shower and loo to port and bedroom forward. Instant hot water of LPG boiler. Main heating is by fan assisted storage heater.
My building style incorporates a substantive amount of reused materials and the Dodge boasts remnants of four redundant boats and a fire engine carcus from which it derives it's name.
Accès des voyageurs
Open access to all of the Dodge. I or my nominated representative will be happy to show you whichever of the other boats on my site that are safe and presentable.
