Museum
“Queluz Palace is located 16 km from both the centre of Lisbon and Sintra. If you are coming from Lisbon by train, take the train towards Sintra and exit in the Queluz-Belas train station. If you are coming from Sintra, get off at the Monte Abraão train station. From both stations you need to walk about 1 km on foot. If you are driving, either from Lisbon or from Sintra, take the IC19 route, exit at ‘Queluz – Palácio’ and keep on following the signs ‘Palácio Nacional de Queluz Palace was the royal residence for Queen D. Maria I and her husband Dom Pedro III (prince regent), who actually started construction of the palace in 1747. Dom Pedro was the uncle of Queen Maria and there was a 17 year age gap, but despite this they had a happy marriage. In the summer months it also hosts classical music concerts (part of the Sintra music festival) as well as equestrian shows. The beautiful formal gardens overlooked by the Rococo façades are adorned with elaborate statues and fountains with themes of classical mythology. The azulejo-lined canal is where the royal family went boating. ”

Parc
“A small forest planted in 1880 by João Carlos Ulrich with the aim of beautifying his Feiteira Palace, now called Parque Silva Porto, or Mata de Benfica. It is located in Benfica, more precisely in the Santa Cruz neighborhood. There are two paddle tennis courts, a children's playground with access ramp, picnic grounds, adventure park (Benfica Extreme Adventure Park - BX), fitness equipment, a lake, some water fountains, and a public toilet. It is an important leisure area, an authentic lung within the city of Lisbon.”

“Fantastic and cheap - giant portions. Don't be deterred by its plain exterior. The restaurants across the road are even cheaper and the portions more giant, if that's possible. ”
