We will walk around the city from bar to bar, discovering the basque cuisine, local pintxos and the most popular drinks as well. Even if you see 0 guest coming there might be people joining us from other platforms, don't be shy to ask about the tour or about different schedules. You will get to know the history of Basque language and the Basque people, differences between Spain and Basque Country and the past and present of Bilbao. I am very passionate about History and basque traditions, don't be afraid of making too many questions. I will adapt the route depending on if you are more eager to walk and see places or want to try more local foods. The bars and places we will see on this route are not the main touristy ones, I will bring you to special places for a different reason each. If you are a private group, a company or a team, this is definitely the experience for you, send me a message and I will arrange something that suits you. I had been a host for up to 30 people in the past for some team-building activities. Other things to note You will have eaten enough food at the end of the experience, so you don't need to think about dinner. -Please check "Ama Ur cooking studio". -I´ll show you ingredients from traditional Basque gastronomy and we will locate them geographically in the territory of the seven Basque provinces, so you can tour the Basque Country through its gastronomic culture. -We will cook and taste 6 of the most famous Pintxos of San Sebastián´s bars, while I tell you their stories, secrets and tips so you can cook like a local chef. They will be 6 bite "Basque tapas" that will include local ingredients as fish, pork, cheese, eggs, dairy products and vegetables. Dessert will include the original recipe of "the best Cheesecake in the World", from "La Viña" bar. It is possible to adapt the 6 pintxos for vegetarians, but because most of the ingredients in our culture are of animal origin, it is not a course suitable for vegans. Sorry. -We will set up a little stand with different props for you to take beautiful photographs of the Pintxos you've prepared, so you can share your experience and new knowledge with family and friends. Podrás bañarte en las famosas aguas de la bahía de La Concha y disfrutar fondeados tomándote algo a bordo. Tras relajarte en la bahía, zarparemos impulsados por más de 188m2 de vela y navegaremos por las aguas que rodean la ciudad, viendo una puesta de sol que no podrás olvidar. Cours de cuisine basque immersive à Bilbao avec open bar
Learn how to prepare the most traditional dishes of Basque country in this 100% hands-on cooking class. You will be preparing between 4-5 plates (2-3 starters, 1 main and dessert). The whole meal will be eaten after the class so you don´t need to think of food afterwards. As you are cooking we will explain you the story behind each dish, ingredient and special tricks to recreate it at home. There is no real cooking without wine, so an open bar will be at your disposal with refreshing Txakoli and Rioja wine. The menu will be as follows and could vary depending on what´s available in the market (let us know of any food intolerances in advance please): You will learn how to cook the famous Basque stew Marmitako made with Bonito (the tuna of Northern Spain), chorizo cooked in cider, the traditional T-bone steak, the sweet red peppers (Etxebarri style), a refreshing green salad and the fabulous Basque toast for dessert. As appetisers we will serve some cheeses, charcuteries and the special gilda designed by you. Please be aware that on Sundays we run our special Paella cooking class (the traditional meal to have on Sundays where you will prepare garlic prawns, paddron peppers, a fish and a meat paella and a dessert) Please be aware that since Covid we moved the location of our school to downtown Bilbao so we didn´t have to depend on any type of transport!

The perfect combination of breathtaking sights, history and culture If there’s a region in the Basque Country that combines great nature and vibrant history, it would be the Biosphere Reserve of Urdaibai. We will visit some of the most beautiful places in the entire Basque Country, which are also key to understanding the history and culture of this land. A visit to Urdaibai, an area where I have grown up, visiting world-known places such as San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Gernika or Bermeo. Our trip will first take us to the area of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, famous for being the setting for Dragonstone in the famous series “Game of Thrones”. Currently, due to a landslide it is not possible to visit the chapel, so we will access several viewpoints to contemplate the beauty of the place. We will continue to Bermeo, to visit what was the capital of the province until 1602 and discover a central element of Basque history: the sea. The visit ends in Gernika, a key town for understanding Basque culture, where we will discover the tragic story of its bombing, which inspired Picasso to paint his famous painting “Guernica”. I would love for you to accompany me to discover my favorite area in the entire Basque Country. I have grown up playing, swimming and fishing in this beautiful corner of our geography and today is the day I want to share it with you, do you dare?

Je vous accueillerai à Donostia-San Sebastian pour aller à l'intérieur de notre territoire où nous visiterons la ferme Igartubeiti (16ème siècle). Ensuite, nous nous rendrons dans l'une de nos caves à cidre pour une petite visite du pommier et des installations de cidre. Nous accompagnerons cette visite avec une dégustation de cidre en bouteille et directement à partir des tonels. Nous dégusterons ensuite le menu traditionnel de cidre.

Art, culture, and a craft beer combine for a look into the creative side of Bilbao, Bilbao La Vieja neighbourhood. Inmerse yourself in this multicultural neighbourhood and see first-hand the diverse cultural movements happening there as a result of municipal initiatives or led by locals themselves. First of all be surprised visiting and old church that is now a venue for concerts and exhibitions and explore Marzana Dock entering the heart fo the neighbourhood to observe the huge change that has taken place here. The once drab-area is now home to many works by local and international artists, which can be seen on sides of buildings, on briges, and many others espaces which your guide will point out to you as you walk. I´ve been living in this neighbourhood for the last 30 years and I´ve been part of this transformation. Finally we will visit Sagrado Corazón de María square, the epicentre of comercial life in the area, and location of many multicultural festivals. This is also where we´ll stop for one of the best local craft beers in the city at a local cultural centre engaged in the social movements happening in the area called Sarean to which I also belong. The tour ends after our beer, but don´t forget to ask me about what else to see and do in Bilbao. Other things to note This is a walking tour that includes some hills. It is not recommendable for people with walking issues.
