“Sure you can see the water fountain from afar but actually going there is a whole other experience. In the summer you can rent a small boat for up to 6 people without a license and there are lots of activities for locals and tourists. There are also restaurants and bars around if you want to relax and take a break. ”

“We always take our guests to climb the stairs of the cathedral to admire the 360º view of Geneva. Extrait from Know-it-all passport®: 12th century structure includes an eclectic mix of styles. It is best known as the adopted home church of John Calvin, one of the leaders of the Protestant Reformation. Inside the church is a wooden chair used by Calvin. Note: Fantastic 360° view of Geneva and surrounding mountains from the top. Climb up the 153 stairs, revel in the magnificent views along the way and discover the inner workings of this historical landmark. If you can stand loud noises, then make sure you are at the top on the hour so you can hear at close-hand the bells ring. There are 2 towers, North and South. Note: Please respect the red light/green light system on some of the narrow spiral stairs that allow traffic flow with a one-way system. Price to climb up the tower: Fr. 5.-/adult, Fr. 2.-/child age 6-16. Open October through May 10h-17h30 (Sunday from 12h), June through September 9h30-18h30, Saturday till 17h, Sunday 12h-18h30.”

“This is really something. The people at Guedelon are building a castle from the ground up, with techniques from the middle ages. When you walk there it really comes to life, you can suddenly imagine how they made all those amazing buildings.”

“Founded in 910, the Benedictine Cluny Abbey had an exceptional influence on Europe, both political, artistic and religious. Both a town and an abbey, Cluny, even without its great abbey, bears witness to the greatness of the monastic reform movement of the Middle Ages.”

“Walk around the lake for a lovely 6km walk Swim in the lake either on the south side on the grassy area, or on the north side for a small fee at the Union Nautique. Go to the Base Nautique (not to be confused with the Union Nautique) to rent a paddle or a kayak for 10€ an hour, get there at 9am in August or you will have a long wait. Get an ice-cream cone at the kiosk, rent a paddle boat or take a boat trip at one of the many rental places on the east side of the lake (closest to the center of town)”

“Family oriented Italian restaurant with a play area for kids!! No reservations but if you go early and wait for a bit, it's worth it. Known for their Naples style pizzas and their pastas aren't bad at all either! Prices are also reasonable by Geneva standards!”

“La Péniche Cancale est un établissement culturel et gourmand amarré au Port du Canal de Dijon. À mi-chemin entre une salle de concert et un bar-restaurant, la Péniche Cancale propose une programmation musicale variée, ainsi que des animations culturelles et culinaires originales. Dans la cale, sur le pont-terrasse et à quai, devant le bateau. Elle est aussi un bistrot le soir, et un restaurant de poisson (So Fish) le midi aux beaux jours.”
