Volcano
“Mount Teide is the highest peak in Spain, and the third highest volcano in the world. Its three lookout points offer fantastic views of Tenerife and its neighboring islands. You can do guided walks to the peak (which take around 6 hours and are not for the faint-hearted) or take a cable car (€27 adults, €13.50 children). If you do fancy daring a visit to the mouth of the volcano, you’ll need to apply for a permit beforehand from the national park’s office in Orotava.”

Parc
“Timanfaya is the symbol of Lanzarote. You can drive through the park many landscapes with your car on the normal road (dir. Yaiza). If you have more time, you can book a guided tour in the very heart of the national park (very touristic so expect a lot of people). You will have to leave your car at the entrance and join the tour's bus through the moon-like lava and the vulcano's calderas. Note it is not allowed to walk/hike/bike in that part of the park.”

Nature
“A piece of the Sahara desert that must not be missed. Best views from the Hotel Riu pathway. Warning, ask yourself where the 40,000+ people a day go to the washroom. Island Government has not installed washrooms nor showers under pretense of Natural Reserve Area. No permanent facilities are allowed yet somehow temporary Bar Cabanas and thousands of rental Beach Chairs are everywhere. Can be an amazingly disgusting place if the winds turn from there natural direction of out to sea during the day to inland. wow can the ocean ever smell like a giant toilet. Only saving graces here is the winds blow out to sea normally and the currents flow quickly and away from the beach. High winds can equal instant burn on exposed skin. Area is not for the faint of heart or prudes. Expect real life in all its forms here and enjoy the freedom wallowing in human movement. Paid washrooms exsist. Sadly they are a must for a shower after if you don't want swimmers itch. ”

“For a gateway into Gran Canaria's past, why not visit one of GC's museums? Las Palmas de Gran Canaria's Casa de Cólon (Columbus House) museum chronicles the adventures of Christopher Columbus whilst Gáldar's Cueva Pintada (Painted Cave) museum reveals the island's pre-Spanish history.”

Amphitheater
“Dubbed the ‘Sydney of the Atlantic’, The Auditorio de Tenerife has become the island’s architectural icon, and is the most photographed view in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The brainchild of architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, the ambitious structure features a huge wave-like arch that appears to defy gravity. It becomes particularly impressive at night when it is lit with bright white light. Home to the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, it also has ballets, dance shows, musical, operas, comedy and gospel concerts. You can grab tickets for as little as €5.”
