Museum
“e Goreme Open-Air Museum resembles a vast monastic complex composed of scores of refectory monasteries placed side-by-side, each with its own fantastic church. It is obviously the first sight to be visited by any traveler in Cappadocia, standing as it does in the very center of the region with easy access from all directions. It is only 15 minutes walk (1.5km, 1 mile) from Goreme village center. It contains the finest of the rock-cut churches, with beautiful frescoes (wall paintings) whose colors still retain all their original freshness. It also presents unique examples of rock hewn architecture and fresco technique. The Goreme Open Air Museum has been a member of UNESCO World Heritage List since 1984, and was one of the first two UNESCO sites in Turkey. ”

“Cappadocia is a fairy tale land that attracts the attention of millions of tourists worldwide as well as domestic tourists. In fact, Cappadocia, whose name means ‘The Land of Beautiful Horses eşsiz, offers visitors the traces of a completely different world with its unique view, huge balloons and history that cannot be avoided. Underground cities, Ihlara Valley, Urgup, Goreme, Avanos is one of the most prominent places to see such as Uchisar Castle. B.C. Cappadocia, which came under the rule of the Roman Empire in the 17th century, built monasteries, churches, cells and cellars with the works of Christian monks and monks, being the most beautiful example of Uçhisar Castle. The structures that have survived since the Byzantine period have been used for defense and asylum. ”

Establishment
“The 55m deep ventilation shaft was also used as a well. Not every floor was provided with water wells up to the surface in order to protect the dwellers from poisoning during raids. Derinkuyu contains at least 15,000 ventilation ducts that provide fresh air deep within the underground city. The Derinkuyu Underground City was opened to visitors in 1965 but so far less than half of it can be visited. ”
