Monuments/Sites célèbres
“ The Casa Milà, popularly called La Pedrera, is the last civil work of Antoni Gaudí. From the terrace of La Pedrera you can see the Sagrada Familia. As in the Casa Batlló terrace, the architect had a space where he could admire his most important work: the Sagrada Familia.”

Musée d'art
“Surely "the" museum to visit in Barcelona. For the artist and for the building. Imagine Montcada Street, in the Gothic quarter, five mansions united to form a museum, lovely to visit. About Pablo Ruiz Picasso the museum is essential to understand his formative years. The genius of the young artist is revealed to us through more than 3,500 works that make up this permanent collection.”

“There are lots of gardens on this big, green, city lung where you can walk, rest, play, do sport or just enjoy nature. The botanical garden lays out its collection of Mediterranean plants on steep slopes that provide a great viewpoint. You can also enjoy the plants and views in the Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera, featuring cactus, and the Jardins de Mossèn Cinto Verdaguer, where the numerous species means there are flowers in bloom all year round. ”

Musée d'art
“Meier embraced the difficult task of creating a building that would ultimately display a variety of contemporary artworks that were unknown to him at the time of design. The choice to build the museum in the Plaça dels Ángels is consistent with Meier’s vision to situate the building amongst some of Barcelona’s oldest streets and buildings, in addition to revamping the public space of the Raval. After the completion of the $35 million construction, local media referred to the museum as “the pearl” amongst the old architecture and narrow streets just a few blocks from Gothic center of Barcelona. The building’s architectural style has strong references to Modernism. The large (120 by 35 meters) white building has much of its southern elevation glazed, providing the visitor with views across the plaza, and allowing for an abundance of natural light to illuminate the interior galleries. The museum has three main galleries, which can be subdivided, as well as five smaller galleries, one of which is in a tower. Collection The permanent collection of around 5,000 works(up from 1,100 works at the time of the museum's opening in 1995) dates from the mid-20th century onward. There are three periods of modern art represented: the first one covers the forties to the sixties; the second spans the sixties and seventies; the third period is contemporary. The collections focus on post-1945 Catalan and Spanish art, although some International artists are also represented”

“The legacy of a genius; that’s what you’ll come across if you take a stroll around the centre of Figueres, the capital of the Alt Empordà region, which is home to the Teatre-Museu Salvador Dalí. Contemplating the work of Catalonia’s most iconic surrealist is a unique experience for all five senses. From paintings and engravings to photography, sculpture and holograms, here you’ll find Dalí’s imaginative universe in all its splendour. While the museum is incredible enough to be the highlight of your trip, Figueres is a very nice town to explore and is just a short drive away from the Gulf de Roses on the Costa Brava.”

Restaurant à tapas
“Packed to the rafters with dusty bottles of wine, this classic but minuscule bar makes up for in tapas what it lacks in space. The specialities are 'conservas' (shellfish preserved in tins), which aren't always to non-Spanish tastes, but the 'montaditos' (sculpted tapas served on bread) are spectacular. Try salmon sashimi with cream cheese, honey and soy, or cod, passata and black olive pâté. Get there early for any chance of a surface on which to put your drink.”
