“Columbia State Park is an old, Historic gold mining town. A family favorite. Enjoy the Stagecoach ride, old fashioned candy shops, sarsaparilla and restaurants. And some of the best pizza can be found at the St. Charles Saloon. ”

State / Provincial Park
“The best preserved original gold mining town in California. Many original buildings and examples of authentic mining equipment, cute shops, a functioning blacksmith who you can watch work (or purchase a freshly-made metal item), ice cream, restaurants and bars, and you can even pan for gold. A SUPER family day of history, excitement, learning and playing. Something for every member of the family, and an important part of our western story. ”

Store
“Delicious handmade candies made on site at this old-fashioned candy shop. The Nelson family has owned this candy store for five generations. They have fudge, licorice, candied apples, and every confection you can imagine. My favorite is the chocolate pine nut roll. I never go to Columbia without stopping here. There is also a location on Main Street in Murphys.”
