Parc
“Enchanting riverside park with expanses of luscious green among grand old trees, fabulous WPA stone structures and a lake. A circular wall around a stone tower was Monkey Island in mid-century. We loved to watch monkeys through the high fence across the mote now gone. There are plenty of picnic table shelters, a new splash pad, DISC GOLF COURSE, TENNIS COURTS, modern playground, an old stone bridge and amphitheater. It’s one of my all-time favorite city parks. Be sure to visit the lakeside patio with William Allen White’s bust and editorial. In 1926-7 the White family gave 52 acres to the city of Emporia in Mary’s memory, because like Peter Pan, Mary didn't want to grow up.”
