“Great for a visit to this extensive delicatessen, full of highland specialities, not to mention a wee dram. Wander amongst the country clothing and home making departments. But don’t miss the short walk to the Falls of Bruar to the right of the clearance department.”

Nature
“The fairy pools don’t need an introduction, the name itself describes the magical place that it is. Clear water pools and rives that almost look blue. Fantastic place for some wild swimming. The walk to the pools themselves is not a long walk but if you carry on past the pools toward s the cullins the water turns even more blue ”

“You get a cracking view all the way out to Skye (on a clear day) from the car park. With a cafe, walks and views, well worth a trip. For the more adventurous, take the 1 hour walk up the mountain to Cairngorm Summit. As a qualfied mountain guide, Heather advises that you have the appropriate footwear, clothing, map, compass and health and experience to undertake this trip. Watch the weather and look at the Mountain Weather Information Service. it is 1300 metres afterall and like the Artic!”

Zoo
“Ten Arctic fox cubs born at Highland Wildlife Park Ten Arctic fox cubs have been born at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) Highland Wildlife Park near Aviemore. The cubs will stay with their parents May and Bard, who arrived at the park in November 2018, for about five to six months. Arctic fox cubs are born with grey or brown fur for better camouflaging during the summer months. Adult Arctic foxes change their colouring with the seasons and are better known for their thick white fur which helps them to cope with temperatures as low as -50 degrees Celsius.”
