Tourist Information Center
“This is close to the cabin. About a 10 min drive. This is where you can find all sorts of brochures and trail maps, etc on the park. This is usually the place that Fishing Guides will pick you up as well. There is a small interactive exhibit inside that is nice, and a small nature trail. Find out about the hikes you can take around the area. There are some gorgeous hiking trails, some of them you can park, and then find the trail head, and some of them are only accessed by boat. There are 2 addresses for the Kab Visitor Center (2 physical locations). Here is the second place: 9940 Cedar Lane, Kab 56669”

Bar
“Great "up north" ambiance and good food for any meal of the day at a good price! The dining room is separate from the bar, which has "Sports TV" and Pool table. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner through the summer months. Great Wild Rice dinner options in the evening. We love their smothered hash browns for a hearty breakfast. Pancakes are the best anywhere too. If you like a reuben, they do their own from scratch and rave reviews and you can't go wrong with a burger with your choice of a 1/3 or 1/2 pounder!! Chips are standard with the burgers and sandwiches. We recommend adding on "tater tots"! Tip: Call to confirm open hours during fall and winter months.”

Campground
“This is where the public boat ramp is. There is also a beach and a LOVELY hiking trail (a long one and a short one, see the steps next to the boat landing for entrance). You can also walk around the campground road, which is beautiful. Each of the 60 campsites (it is never ever busy) is unique and you are welcome to walk around it. It is in walking distance and a great workout walk from the cabin (60-90 minutes round trip). When you make the turn from the main road to the gravel road into WoodenFrog, this is where you need to be quiet and look for fox. Then, check out the short hike near the boat ramp. Follow the steps up from the ramp area. It has gorgeous big trees, and super views of the water. Clean bathrooms here too!”

“Call ahead to see what nights they are open. Greasy bar food (all fried), drinks, pizzas too (although I haven't ordered one yet). They have an outdoor patio and I've heard good things about this place!”

Marchand de vins et spiritueux
“BEST ICE CREAM! 16 mouth watering flavors. HUGE SCOOPS! Tackle, bait, boat/kayak/canoe/4 wheeler rentals/clothing/fishing guides. Ice cream, coffee, hot dogs, and Minnesota tshirts/gear. Also a very nice grocery selection. Closest place to pick up firewood, ice, and grocery items. Boat rentals, fishing guides.”

“Good food. A nice meal-as fancy as it gets for being on the lake. They have a really big log cabin style lodge dining room and restaurant. I had a salad when I was there and they have a home made maple viniagrette dressing that is so delicious. I've heard they will share the recipe if you ask for it. It is good on chicken too! Kind of pricey- don't expect bar food pricing. Nice sit down restaurant.10606 Gamma Rd, Kab, 56669”
