“The arts museum is within the Kampong Glam area also known popularly as Arab Street. All around it are bars, cafes, & restaurants. For a great cocktail bar check out Ethan Leslie Leong's Maison Ikkoku. Back in the heydays of the finance industry he made the world's most expensive cocktail (35,000 dollars) but you can get them at a more reasonable 25 to 35 dollars a drink. For food check out Kampong Glam cafe for local fare and for hipster central walk down Bali Lane. Here you can get a haircut at Hounds of Baskervilles, listen to local and international live acts at Blu Jaz and chill out at several small bars and restaurants on the street amongst a constantly rotating scene fashion stores.”

“For those looking for malay/indonesian nasi padang. We love their tahu telok (get there at 11am before they are sold out), beef rendang, sambal goreng, berkedel, tempeh and some rice. Don't forget the sambal belachan if you like it extra spicy!”
