Art & Eats / Studio Tour at Hacienda Hummingbird
Welcome to our home and studios. We'll greet you at the door to our Northern New Mexico Territorial-style homestead with our dogs barking excitedly. Inside diamond plaster walls, soaring ceilings with vigas, and a solid wood counter set with coffee or tea begin our relaxed chat about art, architecture, music, marriage, and New Mexico. Warren's art graces our walls and he'll share his unique perspective as an artist, gallery owner, and President of the Santa Fe Gallery Association. I'll share stories from my life as a singer, wearable art designer, and natural ambassador to Santa Fe and Las Vegas. Upstairs we'll tour Warren's studio, view works in process, take in the massive views of the mesa and bask in the glorious Northern New Mexico light that has inspired generations of artists. If we're lucky, Hummingbirds may grace our day. Finally, we'll enjoy a light homemade meal, sourcing local ingredients and completing the sensory experience that is the alchemy of art, artists, food and the boundless beauty nature provides. Peek into the art and lives of working artists. We've been married for more than 30 years and working from our home studios for more than a decade. This experience is inspired by the warm hospitality extended to us while touring a coffee plantation near Huatulco, Mexico. You'll arrive as curious outsiders and leave as friends dreaming of your return.
Tissage créatif
1. We will take a look at my woven fabrics and get ideas for techniques you want to try. We also look for color combinations that appeal to you. 2. Next, you fill a basket with your yarn choices. Choose your color and texture palette! 3. We will learn to wind yarn onto bobbins, so you can begin your creation. 4. We always start simple and learn the basic steps of weaving. Shuttle, feet, beat! 5. As you get comfortable, we can start adding texture, colors, and design with different techniques. 6. When you near the end of your time, we will take your piece off the loom and finish the ends by knotting the warp. 7. You will walk out the door with your woven creation! Other things to note: I am flexible, write me if you have a special time or another request. We might be able to work something out. Eat or snack before you come, eating while weaving is difficult!

Nous recherchons des aventuriers prêts à explorer Santa Fe
Dear Prospective Hunters, I'm Tara, and as a traveler, guide, and videographer, I have created an immersive social game that is unlike any other scavenger hunt. Designed to help your team take a deeper dive into Santa Fe, my goal as a creator is to provide rare opportunities to connect with this unique and beautiful city. If you can trust me to make that jump, I promise I'll give you the tools you need (you'll learn the Vibe Test to find friendly locals) to explore Santa Fe in a different and creative way. And I'll be there (even if a co-host lends a hand) myself, a creative game show host in your pocket. I'll cheer your team on and offer commentary as you find clues. No one is more excited than me to see the creativity the collaboration creates. This is no piece of paper with a hunt list or an employee following a script. Each hunt is personally curated and slightly different depending on your responses, my prospective hunters. This is not a back-of-the-bus experience. Your team and the energy you bring will be the defining element in an adventure that I, the game designer and host, Santa Fe itself, and you create together. The game is designed for all ages of people who like to have fun, explore, be creative and learn new things. Tara

The session will end by having a personal midfulness card pulled for you as a message to carry out your week. Please note: The experience will take place at the address provided. Please plan to arrive on time to respect my time and others'. Please understand we are unable to transport the instruments to a designated area unless it is an event or collaboration contract that has been pre planned for a large group of people. Thank you for understanding
Le Santa Fe de Willa Cather
On this 2.5-hour walking tour, we’ll explore how author Willa Cather was inspired to write her "best book" (her words), "Death Comes for the Archbishop" by retracing her steps through Santa Fe in 1925 and 1926. We'll gather at the Plaza opposite La Fonda, the hotel where Cather and her partner Edith Lewis stayed during their visits. Cather has become an LGBTQ+ icon since the publication of her letters in 2013, and during this experience we will read from her letters, interviews, and articles, in addition to seeing historic footage of Santa Fe. Our walking route covers about 1.5 miles, mostly on sidewalks, but also climbs a hill to the Cross of the Martyrs with its outstanding view of the city below. During our time together, we'll explore aspects of the novel, such as Kit Carson, Padre Antonio José Martínez, and of course Archbishop Jean-Baptiste Lamy, New Mexico's first Catholic archbishop and the real-life inspiration for the fictional Bishop Latour in Cather's book. We will learn about Sister Blandina Segale who helped set up a hospital in Lamy's house, and visit the last remnant of Lamy's six-acre garden behind the St. Francis Cathedral in the peaceful Stations of the Cross Prayer Garden. Whether you are a local or a visitor, you will see Santa Fe in an entirely different light. And you may well find yourself part of the community known as "Cather People."

Découvrez l'histoire de la gare de triage de Santa Fe
On this 2-hour walking tour, we’ll make our way along the historic railroad tracks, sidings, and warehouses as we explore how the railroad changed Santa Fe when it arrived in 1880 - and how this vibrant arts and historic district has become Santa Fe's "living room." We'll gather under the Railyard's 40,000-gallon water tower to learn about how the railroad came to the Southwest and connected the region to the rest of the country - and opened it up to tourism. You'll learn about Prohibition-era brothels and the murder of the chief of police, and how the Railyard evolved from a transportation hub into an arts and cultural center. Our walking route covers about 1 mile on sidewalks and features two historic depots, warehouses, a slough of railroad buildings dating to the 1880s along Guadalupe Street, the Santuario de Guadalupe - the oldest shrine in the United States - and the historic lumberyard of the Sanbusco center (now New Mexico School for the Arts), which supplied building materials for the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos during World War II. Bring your camera and good walking shoes. The Railyard has considerable urban charm, numerous art galleries, restaurants, and hosts the city's farmers market. This experience is great for groups, teams, and team-building!
Forest Bathing with Local Nature Therapy Guide
Forest bathing is a slow wander and highly sensory experience through a green space, usually not walking more than half a mile in two hours. We begin with an introduction to each other and to Forest Bathing. Learn what it is, how it originated and the benefits of this practice, including lowering blood pressure, decreasing inflammation, reducing cortisol levels and increasing calm, focus and creativity. We will then quietly close our eyes and tune into our senses and the natural world around us before slowly walking and noticing what is in motion all around us. The guide will continue to give invitations that will open your senses to the wonders of the world around you in ways that you have never experienced nature before even if you are a lifetime outdoorsman. Slow down, quiet your mind, tune in, become one with nature and feel better. After each invitation, we have a brief optional share with the group. We end by gathering together for a cup of forest tea. This experience is accessible to all ability levels. Contact me personally about pets and children.
