“Long stretch of white sand beach & crystal blue water. I just enjoy myself every time here. The water can be too rough for children some days though. No bathrooms, just the portable kind. Also no showers so bring a few gallons of warm tap water to leave in your car for a warm shower after. You’ll thank me later. 💛”

“Makena Landing is one of our favorite snorkel spots, you can be sure to spot turtles either in the water or resting on shore in a secluded cove (aka Turtle Town). It is has powdery soft sand if you just want to enjoy a light swim. Take some beach chairs and sit on a grassy area overlooking the water. Parking, restroom and shower facilities are also available.”

“Paddle Board – Don’t pay for a lesson unless you have extra cash. You can rent boards anywhere but the easiest place we found was off Kamaole II Beach. Just North (1/2 Block) is Café O’lei and below that is a good place you can rent and then walk the paddle board to the beach. Get your board as soon as it opens and go early as once the waves get going around 10:00 or 11:00AM then it is extremely wavy and difficult. I would only pay for half day in the morning to try it at first.”

“My favorite beach where you can snorkel, swim, sunbath and shower. This beach is the beginning of the boardwalk that travels behind all the hotels in Wailea including Grand Wailea and Four Seasons. You will have easy access to all the beach side restaurants with a stunning view along the way. ”

“This is such a cute beach with great waves and easy access to snorkeling. It is worth seeking out this little spot and you may just catch a wedding or an emgagement happening right on the beach. Wonderful place to take photos and spot turtles.”

“ The coral reef right in front of the resort is one of my favorite places to snorkel. I frequently see turtles, eels, dozens of different types of colorful tropical fish, and once a monk seal. There are other great spots as you travel south along the coast with convenient shore access. They are easy to find with a google search of best places to snorkel in South Maui. ”

“Welcome to BIg Beach home of the big wave! Oneloa or “Big Beach” is the largest beach in Hawaii. There is plenty of open sand no matter how busy Maui gets. The waves can get huge here especially in winter months. If you are new to the ocean it’s not a safe place to swim. Please listen to lifeguard announcements. Feel free to ask lifeguards if the water is safe to enter. Even if the waves are large Big Beach is an amazing place to spend the day. Unlike many of Maui’s beaches there are only port a potties in the parking lot. ”

“Stretching from Ulua Beach to the north and Polo Beach to the south, the Wailea Beach Path is a great way to enjoy the Wailea shore line. Beautiful landscaping and stunning ocean vistas make this one of our favorite walks, especially before sunset. Runners often enjoy the path in the early morning or evening hours, and it is not uncommon to spot whales as you walk along during the winter months.”
