“A daily hike for many locals! This circular track is a great way to see beautiful Wanaka, get the legs moving, and heart pumping. It does get busy at times so go a little earlier, or if the first carpark is full, simply drive a little further and you will find the second carpark (opposite Puzzling world). It's circular and you can go in either direction - clockwise you will get a long, steady, zig-zag climb to the top , with lovely stairs and features to descend on the way down. Anti clockwise the climb is a little steeper and shorter, and on the walk down the views of Wanaka are a nice treat. When you are at the top be sure to check out the information, including a detailed compass with names of the surrounding mountains. ”

“Follows the track along the Clutha river as it flows out of Lake Wanaka towards the sea on the East of the South Island. Really pretty, particularly in the morning. You might see trout feeding in the shallows at this time too”

“This is an easily accessible 20 minute walk from the Studio to stretch your legs. The track is right beside the lake. At Waterfall Creek, the offshore island is Ruby Island. Every year in January a swimming event is held that circumnavigates the island, raising funds for keeping Lake Wanaka clean and pure. From Waterfall Creek, the track connects to the Glendhu Bay track if a longer walk is on the agenda.”

“A 5 minute drive from the front door the Outlet is the gateway to awesome mountain biking, hiking, swimming and exploring. Meander left along the lakeside track all the way into Wanaka or stroll right and discover Albertown and keep going to Hawea or Luggate. ”
