National Park
“This park has it all. It is very open with ample lawn space for relaxing or games. It has scenic trails for walking (some overlooking the ocean) and a beautiful beach. It has picnic tables if you'd like to eat there. There are historic houses and stables, as well as an absolutely stunning historic mansion with gardens on site. This place is a family favorite.”

“Located at the foot of Ocean Avenue in Mystic Country, New London’s premier recreational facility provides excellent public access to the Atlantic Ocean from a beautiful white, sugar sand beach, complimented by an Olympic-size freshwater pool, lockers, and event staging. The 50-acre Park also boasts a beautifully landscaped 18-hole miniature golf course and various attractions. The 8000 square foot Port ‘N Starboard is one of the area’s largest Banquet and Conference facilities. For smaller gatherings, we offer the newly renovated Pilot House and Nautilus rooms, each with access to an Ocean View Deck. Catering is provided by Centerplate. The park hosts our new Boardwalk Café Food Court, as well as ice cream and snack stands. Check out our triple water slide, our spray park, the carousel and rides, our Game Room, all new Nature Walk with Bird Watching observation Deck, Gift Shop, Work out World Health Club, and new play ground areas. Ocean Beach Park opens on Memorial Day weekend, and operates through Labor Day. The Park hosts a variety of family oriented entertainment, festivals, volleyball tournaments, sporting events, and nightly entertainment throughout the summer.”

“walk along the Thames river, check out the ferries heading to Long Island, watch the trains go by or watch a submarine go past. You can fish off the piers, feed the sea gulls or just sit and watch the world go by. In the summer there is a festival just about every weekend - all free!”

Parc
“There are two parts to the Connecticut College Arboretum: the Williams Street entrance leads to beautiful, sculpted trails with labeled trees and plants. The lower Arbo (entrance by the Conn College Athletic Center) is more wild with longer trails that go out to Mamakoke Island Conservation Area. We highly recommend both.”
