“The seas around Sri Lanka offer the chance to see Blue Whales in concentrations not seen elsewhere in the world. Blue Whales do not move in groups like Sperm Whales for example. However, off the south coast they gather for feeding, with mothers often seen with calves. On our trips recently we had at least six, possibly ten individuals, within a quadrat of half a kilometer square. A concentration of blue whales of this nature is something which whale watchers can only dream about. We can arrange a professionally designed Whale watching tour or can also offer Whale watching extensions to your general naturalist holiday inSri Lanka. We also work closely with Dr.Charles Anderson, a professional marine biologist who runs a Whale and Dolphin watching company in Maldives. He has been living in the Maldives from 1983, and has a wealth of experience on marine life. Dr. Charles also offers and leads Whale watching tours in Sri Lanka.”

“I haven't personally taken this tour but here's a guest review: "We went with Marissa Water Sports and can recommend. Started off as a social enterprise to provide jobs to youth post the tsunami crisis. They follow the Whales and dolphins conservation society standards, have been responsible with the their approach (unlike many other boats) and is not overcrowded. I'd recommend it. If people want to have even fewer people on their boat, probably should refrain from bargaining. We paid 7500 per person but had a double deck boat with about 15 of us so was specious AF."”

“Ssst, this one is secret. A tiny secluded beach and not the easiest place to reach. That’s why Secret Beach is so beautiful. There are one small bar and a local woman selling coconuts. Enjoy an incredible sunset from Secret Beach. Search on Google Maps for Secret Beach bar and ask a tuk-tuk driver to take you there. You will need to walk about 10 minutes down the road since this is too steep for the tuk-tuks.”

“Our favourite kept secret '' Baby's Place " This locally owned family restaurant is outstanding, its located right on the beach serving fresh seafood daily. The wife will cook up a feast while the husband will help you choose the perfect seafood combination for the evening. Highly recommend the "Devilled" calamari and prawn mix.”

“This is a small locally owned restaurant on a cliff top overlooking weligama bay. It is about a 15 minute tuk tuk drive however well worth it in our experience. I'd highly recommend coming here early in the evening so you can experience the view and also before the rush so you can actually get a table! It is a tiny restaurant yet no1 on trip advisor in weligama so it gets extremely busy. Either book, or arrive at 4-5pm and enjoy the sunset. We can highly recommend Vegetable Pakoda for a starter, the chicken massaman, or the prwans as a main and definitely try his lime soda its to die for! They don't serve alcohol however you can bring your own which is good.”
