Nature Preserve
“Birders flock to Mass Audubon's 940-acre sanctuary, where 5 miles of trails cross tidal creeks, salt marshes and beaches. The most popular is the Goose Pond Trail (1.5-mile round-trip), which leads out to a salt marsh and offers abundant opportunities for spotting marine and bird life. The sanctuary also offers guided walks and kayaking tours, seal cruises and summer kids' programs.”

“Large ocean beach. Attendant on duty. Large beach. Somewhat steep dune – limited access for disabled people. Picturesque landscape. Some waves. Big parking lot. ”

“5 minute walk from the cottage and you can hike through the pines and explore all of the conservation land. Left out of the driveway (on foot) go though the intersection and up the hill, stay left on Baker Road (unpaved sandy road) and follow to the monument on your left which marks entrance to trails. ”

“Wellfleet Beach party central with a drinking institution sitting atop its dunes Here’s who Cahoon Hollow is not for: those seeking quiet; those seeking warm waters; those seeking not to exercise. Access to this wide-sand beach requires a 75-yard trek down a steep sand dune; reasonable enough, but it’s the trek back up that can fell many a beach goer. (This likely explains the demographics of the beach, which skew younger and fitter.) But the journeys down and up are well worth it, for an iconic Atlantic-side, wide-sand beach complete with dozens of seals popping their heads out of the water just offshore. Just prepare yourself for the nightmare parking scene, which is even worse this year after storms and erosion shut down the main parking lot. Bike or Uber”

“Take your bikes to Wellfleet and enjoy the bike ride to Brewster. Many stops along the way to various beaches. On the way back, try out PB Boulangerie. Probably the best French inspired restaurant and bakery on the Cape.”
